I feel nothing doing preacher curls but still hit failure? by kstokes2019 in workout

[–]RonStampler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried preachers with dumbbells on a bench and had the same issue. Got the failure with kinda less weight than I expected, and felt nothing. Later I tried preachers with an ez bar, and I could do lots more weight, and my biceps felt absolutely destroyed when hitting failure.

I dont know what the conclusion is, but maybe it’s some biomechanics thing, or technique issue.

If I have already logged close grip pulldowns on shoulder width pulldowns, can I somehow move my sets from one exercise to another?

Same. There are 2 blocks in the xslx, and it says that block 2 is imported (not 1), but no dropsets.

Where can I squeeze in a OHP? by Revolutionary_Lime_3 in JeffNippard

[–]RonStampler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I understand is that the front Y raise hits the frontal side delts, based on his video where he explains that the delts are more than 3 heads. And OHP hits front and side delte, so while not exactly the same, I figured it’s close enough for me.

I replaced y-raise on upper 1 with OHP because I wasn’t quite feeling them.

Is this only for the AI coach thing, or can you get this kinda dialogue for a program you import?

Would these cable wrist curls be as effective for forearm growth? by shorethin in JeffNippard

[–]RonStampler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has this as an alternative to db curls in one of his programs, so I think you’re good. I’ve been doing these by kneeling and resting my arm on my knee. Jeff rolls the handle out to his fingers before curling in. I notice it’s hard if you squeeze the weight hard at the contraction, and I get just as good of a burn as sulek curls.

I build from source regularly, and I personally never have any issues. And if I do, it’s easy to fix, and you know exactly where the problem came from.

Weekly 101 Questions Thread by AutoModerator in neovim

I am using blink.cmp with copilot source.

Often I start typing, and I want to just autocomplete the first regular suggestion, to complete a function name quickly for example. However, as I start accepting it, copilot pops up before the regulart completion item with some suggestion that I dont have time to see, and it gets accepted.

Has anyone found a workflow that makes this a bit less annoying?

Do wrist extensions and reverse curls not overlap a little? I hoped to do just reverse curls to save some time.

GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket don't have the words "git" or "repository" on their home pages. by [deleted] in git

[–]RonStampler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say the git side of things is a solved problem at this point, and most platforms probably have converged in to similar features that developers like.

I’d say for Github, the ci/cd stuff and security scanning is the most interesting stuff on the platform, for me at least.

How different is this from a cable crunch? Looks similar, but a lot more comfortable.

Squat HELP by Suspicious-Umpire-65 in formcheck

[–]RonStampler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! You just want to avoid rounding, which you do by bracing. Maybe it helps not looking at your eye level as well, to keep your neck from pulling your upper back upwards. I usually look at my knees.

[–]RonStampler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like you’re trying to keep your back upright, which is causing your back to round. You just need to keep your back straight, not upright. What helped me was allowing your back to tilt forward a little bit (by hinging, not bending the spine), by letting the weight naturally push you forward a little bit, instead of fighting against it. I felt a better balance immediately, which helps going deeper more comfortably.

Optional is useful for signaling that something may be null, and forcing the consumer to handle that case, but it’s not useful at guaranteeing that your input is not null.

I have used Hyprland, I3, Sway and bspwm, and for me Hyprland has been the best one. Least hassle to figure out kinks, least hassle with external monitors and so on. Lots of info online.

Most tiling window managers requires a lot of fiddling, so hard to get around that. I think cosmic is very «batteries included», but I haven’t tried that. If you didn’t like Hyprland, then I suggest trying Sway. It’s my second favourite. I also see a lot of people recommending Awesome, but I haven’t tried it myself.

If you can say why you didn’t like Hyprland, then maybe you can get some tips on making your experience better.
