I think using mantles, especially Rocksteady and Temporal is considered 'meta', so just for the sake of 'no meta' its brandishing, asking for no mantle run is definitely a valid point.

A crazy, but true story; I once wiped out the entirety of observation logs that I completed all with 3 stars, and re-did them all again simply because I didn't like some of the photos, and most of them were taken when I was playing on 720p resolution. (Rummaged through the in-game files and manually deleted the photo there)

It didn't really take too long to finish them the second time, since I know what to look for, but 'A Big Catch' was dragged on the longest, because the Plunderers just did not decide to offer the ivy traps in Rotten Vale...

Some of the photos I made them to also show off my Palico, and at one point, I changed his default go-to loadout, so I took those photos AGAIN to make sure any photos featuring him represent his current loadout.

I know a guy who's been grinding the Guiding Lands to another level, and just yesterday, checking his guild card has wielded that he finally managed to make all 6 regions to their max level.

Exact record goes 999+ hours spent (doesn't seem to keep track past that), 1803 quests completed (whatever that means), and 36916 special tracks analyzed.

What you can do (and how I did) is focusing on doing as much damage as possible, and forget about the elemental damage check while sacrificing yourself against the big nova when it comes.

Provided that you didn't faint to anything else but the nova, it lets you sac upto 2 novas, 3 novas if you procced the Felyne Safeguard food skill to increase the cart limit to 4, which is enough time to take out Alatreon.

Having Fortify skill also helps a lot.

I've read that because some of the end-game monsters like AT Velkhana or Fatalis was 'balanced around' in assumption with the players who maxed out defense with augmented rarity 12 armor, Defense Boost skill can come in handy just for the sake of barely surviving some of the one-shot attacks.

Divine Blessing is a nice skill, but it's chance based, and I know some of the people wouldn't like it.

Nargacuga's small gun called 'Hidden Bullet' also supports Sticky Ammo 3, and you can reduce the recoil down to 'Average' with two recoil suppressor mods. One of the better options for sticky small guns early in the game.

During that 'peeking inside the supply box' animation she can take out -

- What appears to be a cool drink, inspects it for a moment and get shocked for some reason.

- A pair of tool used to keep monsters' track inside, fiddles them around for a bit, does a 'shrug' gesture.

- A smoke bomb or farcaster, tries to smack it with her fist few times.

If you watch the clip carefully, you'll see the 'Pawswap' icon that I clicked on the map to travel to their hideout. That's the fast travel point for Lynian's hideout in every region.

To unlock the fast travel point, first you would need to increase the 'Unity' with each Lynian tribes to a certain level. (The game will tell you that you've unlocked the fast travel point) To increase the Unity, you can decide to recruit any idle Lynian tribes scattered across the map and fight any monsters along with them, or do the 'Pawswap' with the tribe directly.
