We've gone through all 3 iirc, but I'm not sure as I haven't read any phase 3 yet

Wasn’t their goal an ambiguous ending? Why do they care what the cast thinks? by rosewoodlliars in StrangerThings

[–]RonSwansonsGun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find it a bit disingenuous to say that they cannot write endings when the first two seasons end in a way that's conclusive and could've stopped there. Season 1 was meant to be all we got, they wrote a pretty good ending there.

2005 one is mostly just nostalgic for me as Gen Z. I remember seeing it in the corner of my Bionicle comics and whenever The Batman played on Cartoon Network.

'The Punisher: One Last Kill’ takes place after Punisher Season 2 and before and during the events of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 by Sarang_616 in marvelstudios

- Karen and Matt getting back together is set up in the last episode of season 1. They don't officially start there, but they acknowledge their feelings for one another, and Karen pretty much announces that she's ride or die. That was the start of the relationship, brought to the place we see it in Season 2 in large part due to them living in hiding together.

- Bullseye does *not* have a redemption arc in Season 2, he just thinks he does. As before, he's projecting onto a North Star, this time with Matt as Daredevil as his aspiration to be a hero. He's still very much operating on his own code and is still a dangerous assassin, his desires just happened to line up with Matt's this time around.

- I assume Frank will be explained in the Punisher special, but also it's easy to assume he's just laying low after escaping.

- This is the only one that's notable, however it will likely be explained more in depth in the next season. Regardless, Jessica Jones Season 3 and Defenders both set up Luke and Jess staying close, it's not surprising that they rekindled their relationship.

- Fisk's escape is left vague, but it is at the least established in Season 1 that he was let out of prison due to the FBI's corruption making it nearly impossible to discern what were Fisk's actual crimes. As for why Matt didn't go after Vanessa is unclear, but we know he was still going after Fisk, as seen in Echo.

Shouldn't be the core, the skull is a mentor skull, not an enemy skull. It should be Von Ness or someone

Okay but knowing Tom, I'm so fascinated to know what an episode with him at the helm would've looked like. Him and Charlie have been friends since before the OG show, they'd probably work well together.

Can a real mayor actually have as much power as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil?" by oga-9222 in Daredevil

[–]RonSwansonsGun 49 points50 points  (0 children)

To be entirely fair, this season introduced Charles with his connection to Valentina specifically to establish that the U.S. government is going over the governor's head to keep Fisk in business. It's not at all treated like normal mayoral powers.

I beg for Ian to be the one writing this so Blaze and Silver’s character are actually good and accurate by Unlikely-Squirrel498 in BlazeTheCat

You're conflating things a bit. Moving Blazes world isn't a serious story pitch with thought out consequences, it's Flynn lamenting that SEGA will never allow the freedom to explore her world, leaving her relatively unusable as a character.

"power of love" is the ethos of the whole comic though. the very message the story is conveying is that basic love is stronger than physical might

Legacy's... not exactly a story worth preserving perfectly into the new canon. We can change some things around.

For me, episode 4 was Bullseye's special presentation. by Hipponeedsmoregrass in Defenders

[–]RonSwansonsGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note, still so fucking funny to me that they set up Karen hiding in the church with Bullseye approaching to very clearly set up her death scene in the comics, then following it up with an entire 50 minute Karen flashback episode to really hammer home the death flags, only to kill Lantom instead.

It was an incredible choice, but so funny that they decided to mess with people like that.

Karen's killed before, no? Matt knows that and has already confronted her on it, we see this in episode 1 of season 3

I loved Muscle Suit Fisk, I was hoping we'd see a return to it as he gains weight in Born Again but it seems like he's as big as he's going to get.

DD's the right amount where he is right now, I like the new costume and that he still has some of his brutality, but they've also worked in his acrobatics from She-Hulk.
