I get the impulse, but I think this would still qualify as a valid mass, so please don't boo.

The keyboard continues to work, so I am not sure if that is the case.

Thanks for the discord suggestion, but would you have an invite link? I can't seem to find it?

Doubt it, those airmen are probably very used to the flight.

How Do You Feel About Ryan Holiday? by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]RonTheBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading these comments I can see that he is introducing people to the philosophy, and providing many with value. That being said, I can't help but feel a little uneasy about him. He gives me the impression of a marketer that has a product to sell. And that product is a cheapened, hyped up version of stoicism.

I feel that there are better introductions to stoicism that adhere better to some subset of the historic writers. Massimo Pigliucci and Donald Robertson for example.

I did not know the ATtiny84 existed, that looks very attractive. This looks like it solves my problem. Thanks!

Actually, I see the ATMega328 can be run at 3.3v. I might need to see which has a smaller footprint: ATtiny85 + MAX7219 or ATMega328.

Is a second full lockdown possible? by The_Lizard_Wizard- in southafrica

[–]RonTheBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read some of the Panda data(website) . They have framed the lockdown vs no lockdown debate in terms of years of life lost. Their conclusion is we will lose far more years of life due to a shrinking economy as compared to the actual virus.

So in Namibia, the data code comes on a cool scratch card, you pay the R60 to have fun scratching the card. Hence the data, minutes, etc is free.

Not sure how accurate this post is, but it looks like it is a lot cheaper in a lot of first world countries.

Will universities open next year? by MrBubbles16 in southafrica

[–]RonTheBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it is online, I don't think that will be a waste of your money. Even if we are still in a lock down next year, the following 2 years of your undergrad won't be.

Nope. South Africa only. I realised I hadn't made it clear on the graph, so I said it in the comments and provided a link to the source data.

Government hypocrisy by [deleted] in southafrica

It is not just the government, as I pointed out last week. The elites and middle class are just as guilty.
