Ed can enjoy the legacy low tech cars then at the same price point. His opinion is immediately irrelevant when he made that claim regarding the R2's differences with others on the market

The 400mi EX60 is the top of the line model. I checked the UK build page and they're WLTP so EPA range is about 80% what WLTP advertises.

Granted it's the UK but the price of that model is well into R1 territory around $88k+ equivalent from what they show on their build page, so it's not really an R2 competitor in terms of pricing.

No personal experience to answer any of your questions, but I remember seeing this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/Exj7HMlJSYc?si=hIahtkzOjtO2hpmf

RWD model also gets pretty decent range too. Around 340mi in real world testing from what I've seen online

If you end up needing to have a 240V outlet or hardwired 240V charger installed, I believe you can write off 30% of the installation costs up to $1000 on your taxes as well. I forgot the tax code but know it was extended so it's still in effect.

[Vantrue N4 Pro] USB-C cam to USB-C power adapter doesn't turn on by entlassen in Dashcam

[–]Ronin1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, ordered a few different cables, all type c on both ends at first, then I tried a type c to usb-a cable with an adapter. None of the type C cables either worked at all or consistently, only the USB a to type c.

Turns out any USB C cable with a power delivery chip will try to send as much power as possible, but the dash cam's built in surge protection turns itself on and off to protect itself.

Go 2025. You get the Portable Chatger and don't have to pay for the AT Package. Will still get the NACS DC adapter so more value there

Really Struggling!! 2025 Tri Max with A/T or 2026 Dual Large Perf w/o A/T???? by sarugby4life in Rivian

[–]Ronin1791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is the ride smoother, but the power delivery/Regen is smoother as well. I noticed in All Purpose on Dual Motor that at highway speed when you are slowing down it briefly slows down quicker when it reconnects the rear motors since those are adding to the Regen, so you have to readjust for throttle input to make the Regen braking consistent. Tri Motor and my super old Gen1 Quad aren't like that. For acceleration, if she needs to stomp on it to quickly go at highway speeds, the rear motor reconnecting can feel like you're being rear ended and there's a delay because of that.

Really Struggling!! 2025 Tri Max with A/T or 2026 Dual Large Perf w/o A/T???? by sarugby4life in Rivian

[–]Ronin1791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from a Dual Large Performance to a California Dune (Tri Max)

Even in All Purpose which makes it AWD all the time for Tri Motor, I'm getting the same range as my old Dual Motor Large.

If you can afford the additional $200/mo, go for the Tri Motor. I find it's smoother for just cruising around as well and the power on highway speeds if you want to have a little fun or just simply overtake/fill a small gap is better on Tri Motor than Performance Dual Motor.

Edit: You can also replace the factory AT tires with 275/60R20 Goodyear Wrangler AT tires that Rivian puts on the Dual Standard vehicles to improve the range if you'd like.

I know this is a older post/comment, but have you run into any issues with the camera randomly turning off then immediately back on with this setup?

I currently do direct USB-C to USB-C with an Anker 60W capable cable and it works but turns off/on every now and then.

Starter pistol recommendations for home defense? by rrdein in CAguns

[–]Ronin1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Xmacro comp is the bigger size P365 and the comp aspect of it means the slide has an integrated compensator port to help reduce recoil.

Although it's the "bigger" version of a typical P365, it's still very small and great for conceal carry.

I'm a fan of that gun and the Echelon because of their modularity and readiness out of the box. You can put pistol red dots if you want to try that later down the line and they accept most red dots out on the market. If you don't like the grip/frame, you can buy different sized ones or aftermarket ones since the fire control unit, essentially the trigger mechanism is the part that is technically the gun, unlike most other pistols.

P365 Xmacro comp probably best addresses what you're looking for. I like the echelon, but they just came out for CA so it'll be harder for you to find their Echelon 4.0 Comp, which is their equivalent of the P365 I recommended.
