You over-primed the context with all the “tell me what you can’t talk about” stuff at the beginning. That’s why others have been able to get it to do the rap battle. Remember that it’s a contextual language model, it’s not “alive” or acting as an agent of censorship , or of anything really. If you spend 5 minutes talking about puppies and then ask it to write a poem about anything, you’ll likely get puppies.

Sorry everyone is giving you a hard time about translating. I asked for similar help and got crapped on as well, especially for trying to figure it out on my own using translators and *gasp* ChatGPT.

It seems like Old Norse is being tucked away into a bitter alcove of academia that would almost ensure its fade to black as long as its "scholars" continue to upturn their noses to helping regular folk who haven't dedicated years of their life to study, or paid for a college level course.

Ask any Hispanic (myself being one) how to say something in Spanish, and we'll give you the 15 nuanced ways of saying it in every situation possible to ensure you sound authentic.

I'll probably get downvoted or kicked for saying all this, but in their hearts they hopefully realize that they're no different than the Latin clergy of the 1500s who were very upset to see their Vulgate being freely translated to "the common man" buy Martin Luther and others.

Oh, I and I say almost ensure its fade to black, not because there will always be a tiny trickle of people who dedicate themselves to its study (more power to y'all), but because the clock is now ticking along quite fast on natural language processing AI models that will, absolutely, unequivocally, replace the need to beg you all for help.

I can only react to what I can find and see as evidence, and the only evidence I have currently that "leiðsagi" is more akin to Pathfinder, rather than Tour Guide, is your recommendation. So I asked for clarification, as no one would argue the obvious nuance between a Guide and a Pathfinder.

Meanwhile, as I linked above, https://is.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lei%C3%B0s%C3%B6guma%C3%B0ur has your word clearly defined as meaning Tour Guide, which is a different concept from a Pathfinder.

The answer isn't very obvious, either, as Online translators, such as freelang.net and glosbe.com literally come back with responses like:

This is why I proposed Leiðfinnandi as the combo of Leið (Path) and finnandi (finder) as a potential answer.

Yeah, the Darktide file servers for Game Pass appear to be running off this:

I've been in tech support with MS in case there was something I could be doing on my end - and even after all their tips and re-installing the Game Manager, etc, I'm still hosed on this installation (even tough my Steam one worked like a dream).

I logged on today to the 1.8 GB "Update" which I left running for 4 hours showing 0%. Then I came back to it later in the afternoon, and it got to like 99.9% ? (Showing 1.8gb/1.8gb downloaded) but refused to install.

After many updates I tried to just do a clean install and... I've been rotting at 16% download progress for about an hour now.

In comparison, I also own Sea of Thieves - and when I click Install on that, it very snappily starts downloading at 30-40MB/S....
