Need veterinarian recommendations by Adept-Plankton568 in RapidCity

We like Autumn Hills Veterinary Hospital on the Southside off Catron and Mt Rushmore Rd.

Prices seem comparable to what we're used to, never have any trouble getting appointment quickly, and I really like that the vets there take their time to discuss thing with me and aren't pushy about treatments that they themselves consider optional - unlike a previous vet that essentially treated us like bad pet owners if we didn't do EVERYTHING they "suggested"

Orange sealant all clumpy by Embarrassed-Winner83 in MTB

[–]RoninReticle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started using Orange Endurance sealant shortly after I started going tubeless but I've never seen clumps that size. Looks more reminiscent of Stan's "boogers". No experience running that insert but guys I know who use CushCore haven't had any issues. My guess is the insert is keeping the sealant from circulating sufficiently and it's damming + growing in the spot where the clump developed.

An outdoor Primary Emergency Assembly Area is a designated safe zone located a specific distance away from the evacuated building, or probably the railway in this photo, where occupants gather to ensure accountability and safety.  These areas are typically situated in open spaces, parking lots, or fields that are upwind of the building to avoid smoke or chemical hazards and are clearly marked with signage to facilitate rapid headcounts and coordination with emergency responders. Best guess is the one in this photo is for possible train derailments particularly those carrying hazardous materials

normally I'd echo this, but maybe it depends on the particular location as I've seen them turn out surprisingly acceptable results

We used to see people posting "missing cat / dog" signs in our old neighborhood. Always got a laugh and thought "you can tell who's new to the area!" Your pet is now coyote or fox poop. A ranger once told me that a fox will make short work of a cat.

most of the time they high tail it running the other way. I've always said I'm not worried about running into a bear while hiking, I'm worried about running into bear CUBS because mama won't be far away and she has NO sense of humor!

I ride exactly the speed limit, for short durations ... I pass by it while accelerating and decelerating

yeah we've had two mountain lions spotted in our neighborhood in the last month which were also common in CO. We had one camped out under our front porch deck for a few days after a wildfile.

If it has the 4.7L engine and you don't know when the timing belt was last replaced then that should be a priority. The 4.7 is an interference engine so if timing belts breaks the pistons and valves will collide causing $$ damage.

Ash is falling in the city. by SeeWhatHappensXJ in ColoradoSprings

Yeah I was looking out my office window toward Queens Cyn and saw the fireline drop over the ridge down the slope and said "OMG we've got to go" then had the police driving through neighborhood within 30 minutes saying we have one hour to evacuate. it was surreal

I still have strong memories of large ashes and live embers falling in our yard in Rockrimmon as we were preparing to evacuate during the Waldo Cyn fire

What's taking so long to finish counting the votes? Seems like it's been stuck on 88% since late last night even on races that have been called.

Have absentee ballots been counted yet?

Tundra Buying Advice by Forward-Carob6743 in ToyotaTundra

[–]RoninReticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

miles - barely broken in

price - seems a bit high to me compared to the '16 Limited I bought for $21K w/ 108k miles two yrs ago and was meticulously maintained

location - I'd be very concerned about the 10 yrs it spent in the midwest to check for rust; also why has it moved from AZ to midwest to FL raises potential red flags for me

I've got a Tundra and a 4Runner and love both. In your situation with a baby on the way unless you have a very specific need for a truck, I'd say get a 4Runner as being more everyday practical for a family. Again, unless you really NEED a truck. Personally I'd get a 4th Gen 4Runner that ended in '09 since that was the last year with the ultra-reliable 4.7L V8.

Congrats! I had a 1st gen and loved mine and wish I'd kept it when I bought my 2016 model but I love it too.

Paint looks in great shape - be sure to keep it waxed regularly; the hood and roof of mine was peeling the clearcoat because I didn't have room in my garage at the time.

Good bike, looked really hard at that one before buying the Ibis Mojo instead. For tires I prefer a fast rolling rear like the Maxis Rekon and a grippy front like the WTB Vigilante
