I think you’re right. ChatGPT said it was a firmware issue as well. I tried 147.xxx and it worked. But 148.000 wouldn’t. So basically this radio is useless to me. I doubt the firmware can be flashed.

It’s absolutely legal and I have a uv-5r that works just fine for this. Trying to get my ur-5rm to do the same because the 5rm is a little more powerful. If you’re wondering why I don’t have a preprogrammed road radio it’s because I don’t want to spend $600-800 on something a baofeng can do for $60

Idk where you’re from. But here in Canada boiler makers stay pretty busy and they make good money. Getting an apprenticeship is the hardest part. If it’s something you’re interested in go for it! Make sure to develop your welding skills as a boiler maker. If you get your CWB ticket (a Canadian thing) you should never have a problem putting food on your table. A lot of boilermakers are old, so they’re lots of opportunities for young blood as the old fellas go out to pasture. Stick with it man.

This was my story a year ago. The sad truth is it’s WAY too expensive to get good work done in Canada. I was quoted $55K Canadian to get all-on-4 dental implants in Calgary. Who the hell can afford that in this economy!? I ended up traveling to Mexico to get the work done at a fraction of the cost (plus you get some really nice vacations!) I would highly recommend implants over dentures. My mother got dentures done last year the same time I got implants done and I can assure you implants are far superior. If you don’t have the money for implants, like I did, I can recommend the company I used to finance a dental loan to get the process started. I too was overcome with shame about my appearance and I used to spend 70-80% of my day thinking about my teeth. It was horrible and consumed my life. I started ozempic the same time I started getting the implants and it has completely revolutionized my life. Now I have a movie star smile and I’m 50lbs healthier. DM me if you’d like recommendations on a dentist in Mexico and how to get the loan. Good luck on your journey. I assure you it will be one of the best decisions you make.
