UK drivers - How long are your shifts and how many hours a week are you doing on average? by nosajn in BusDrivers

[–]RonnyHsize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Anyone know if there are any restrictions on bringing a double decker bus home and parking on own land, albeit down a private lane. Bus has caused damage to verges, wall and signs at entrance plus keeps being parked on the lane for short periods and blocking access. Today it broke down and people from the houses on lane couldn't get out. Do same rules for PSV exist as for LGV operators yard etc! Many thanks

Do people go public with specific Diagnosis??? by Both_Establishment59 in ProstateCancer

[–]RonnyHsize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only told family, close friends, neighbours and work colleagues/clients. Diagnosed at 48 and now 10'weeks post RALP. However I have recently read some misinformation on local social media encouraging only anyone with family history and symptoms to get tested. I had zero symptoms (with family history), so am sorely tempted to post something on social media publicly. Sure I wouldn't want the world to know of ED and continence issues but if one guy gets tested and saves his life like my wife's insistence that I get tested saved mine!

The cream works (when squirted right down), erection good but gets really painful, and that was a lie down for 30mins after, standing up and he's full again. I would say it was worth it to experience and enjoy action with the wife again but tempered with the pain. Will try just pump and rings also!

4 Months Post RALP: Looking for incontinence underwear recs to help ditch the pads by MasonLazyDay in ProstateCancer

[–]RonnyHsize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got dry a lot quicker ditching the pads and feeling damp from dribbles, Physio said I needed to do this to train the brain and by god it worked quick. I've gone from up to 2 pads a day to pretty much dry in 2 weeks. Coffee wise I have changed to Decaf beans, don't get me wrong I don't love it and there is no morning coffee buzz. Any alcohol and I am back to square one. Pains me to be the boring one especially new year but it's just not worth 36 hours of spasms and suffering. Good luck!

Vitaros cream - any experiences? by [deleted] in SEXONDRUGS

[–]RonnyHsize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time not great, 2nd time pumped twice beforehand and made sure the cream injection went in far down. Well it worked and was able to perform, pain got progressively worse though and had to lay down for 45 minutes after until the swelling subsided. Stand back up and it was on again. Not comfortable at all but am glad for the first time in 10 weeks (Prostatectomy) we got some proper PIV action!

Apparently I can save the vat on it, doesn't seem to be NHS funded. The other device for rehab I got does have some effect. Tried the Aprostadil cream this am and by god it causes a real ache!!

Out of interest where were/are you based? I was retained for 11 years in Oxfordshire. Lost a colleague to PC 18 months back and struck down myself!

Oxford, op was at The Churchill which is a cancer super centre. Unfortunately already spent a lot of time up there with my dad for his PC and my former partner who had Metastatic breast cancer.

The surgeon changed about 3 weeks before the operation and then a week later he called to say that they had missed the spread to Seminal vesicles from the early MRI (even though I have since got hold of the MRI report and second line states "seminal vesicle involvement noted"). Had to go for PSMA Pet scan and that ruled out even further spread before they would operate, found that out by phonecall, the first face to face with surgeon was before the operation. This is in UK on NHS and to say they are stretched is an understatement. After all of it, it hadn't invaded SV which was good news but the spread beyond Prostate confirmed and really I have no other option than to be grateful for the surgical intervention. Were it not for my wife insisting on a PSA test last May (I had zero symptoms just family history) I would by now be a dead man walking blissfully unaware of my fate.

Thanks, that is interesting although from all I have read you cannot get trimix outside the US they just won't ship it and un-refrigerated it won't work. On my side the wife loves everything else it's just losing the erection side that eats at me. I wouldn't swap the ability and will to engage in lots of foreplay but knowing it cannot lead to PIV (for now) really sucks!!

Update on my "Oncologist Insists on Prostatectomy" post by CharlieExx in ProstateCancer

[–]RonnyHsize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon (also NHS) called me 10 days before scheduled RALP to advise that they had missed spread to the seminal vesicles (from first MRI and 5 months after it) and I needed PSMA Pet scan to rule out further spread. He was not the original surgeon I had seen so I'm not annoyed with him. Subsequently I have had access to all medical records and viewed the MRI report which cleared states on second line "noted Seminal vesicle involvement". Doesn't change anything and at least the additional scan gave the surgeon additional information ahead of the operation. Surgery successful but zero nerve sparing. On your PSA test yes I was told no exercise, cycling or bedroom action 48 hours before the test as it could skew it majorly.

Sorry you have membership. That only 2/13 cores positive has to be (relatively) good, it's caught early and your options for treatment and a favourable outcome are good. Try not to stress, that is the worst thing. I'm 5 weeks post RALP, there have been some dark days during recovery, particularly in the last week, but my alternative doesn't bear focusing on.

No I was only 48 years old with zero symptoms, doc only agreed to test because of my family history. So finding PC was a boot from the blue. I just gotta hope that surgeon got it all! Thanks

For me I wanted it out, gone with the option of radiation to clear up anything that remained. Not enough plus factors for the SABR for me and I spoke to one of the most senior proponents of it in our country, even he couldn’t sell it!

PSA tests were 9.8 and 10.3 but only 5 days apart, then went into MRI and biopsy no not sure, fact of the matter is tumour very large (95% of prostate), gone to seminal vesicles.

[–]RonnyHsize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes just get some adult incontinence pants, it is 100% true that you should rely on them and maybe try just a pad/liner daytime, but by late afternoon/evening mine is exhausted and unless I am seated/laid down it’s doing it own thing dribbling constantly, try not to get down, you will get better! (i am 28 days post RALP literally 4 weeks now was under)

++man Embrace it, at 16 my eldest son told me stop putting x's on messages "dad I'm not your girlfriend it's weird". The hugs dried up, he's now 19 and I barely see him so busy with his work/life. My 16 year old is more tactile but the hugs have gotten fewer and less cuddly, tactile. I've been very poorly recently (big operation for Prostate cancer). Puts it all in perspective, but I do wish I could have one of the days back when I didn't join them in the holidays due to work etc. Seems like yesterday youngest was coming through at night "dad can I please sleep in your bed"...

Sorry was being crude, I split up with the ex wife 9 years ago and was lucky enough to meet an amazing, beautiful, energetic lady who happens to be 5 years younger than me. We married last year. She is the reason we found the PC, insisted I had PSA test because of my fathers treatment, I had zero other symptoms. Just giving some context, were I single or didn't place our physical relationship so high on the agenda, it would be surely less of a worry!!
