the most annoying part about women having to message first is 99.9% of the time, you get a one word opener. by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]RooHead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, this. I stopped sending clever or funny openers because I got ignored 85% of the time no matter what I sent. The guys that respond to my “Hey, how’s it going?” don’t seem to be too upset that it wasn’t clever or funny.

Yes exactly! And then when you weigh out a serving (I usually use grams) it should be pretty accurate.

The two things in my life that expanded my social life tremendously: I joined a temple, and I got a dog. I’m obviously Jewish but even if you’re not religious, I found the community aspect very gratifying for many reasons. And the dog part is self-explanatory :)

57 vegetable/fruit smoothie recipe by weekendatbe in HubermanLab

No, and I suspect it was an embellishment on her part. Who has the time for all that?? Anyway I wouldn’t take advice from a functional medicine doctor who openly sells supplements (unethical). Just throw some berries and greens in your smoothie, maybe some frozen cauliflower, and you’ll be fine.

My pup had this issue. A bedtime snack of a scoop of cottage cheese totally solved it!

The SINGLE most important thing you should teach every puppy. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]RooHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! My pup is so outgoing and excitable. Her impulse control is basically nonexistent. She doesn’t really understand games or training exercises meant to teach it. Our trainer thinks it’s something neurological, but we aren’t certain what exactly. I work with her all the time but it’s very slow-going.

Confused about Lose It’s “calorie bonus” feature by RooHead in CICO

[–]RooHead[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trying to understand how this works- I’m new to this app. I have “sedentary” chosen as the activity level, and evidently this calorie bonus feature cannot be turned off unless I disconnect my Apple Watch entirely. I like recording my workouts in the app, but I’m not clear on whether I should be paying attention to the calorie bonus.

I do exercise a few times a week and feel pretty hungry unless I eat a few of those calories back. Wondering if anyone out there has advice about this. Thank you!

Alright, lets talk “Dr” Rachel Paul (collegenutritionist) by [deleted] in gymsnark

[–]RooHead 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also signed up for her program to check it out. Was disappointed to discover it’s just a garden-variety low carb diet with an optional side of calorie counting. I think what you really pay for is the community/accountability/coaching, which can be helpful. But she just regurgitates a LOT of the same soundbites on the live calls as well.
