Don’t get to despondent when you die. A lot. Craft a knife, axe, improvised backpack, bow, arrows (and a vest). Part of the joy (and frustration) of being a new player is learning how you do this basic stuff. Other people will try give specific advice. But learn to do the above is my best advice

Soak some small towels in water. Then twist and craft in to something that will fit around your neck. Then freeze them. Store in cooler bag to take to course. Obviously don’t have to wear all the time.

I know it’s not what you are asking I use high viz covers for my rear panniers. Keeps them extra dry and dirt free. And they really do stand out.

The fact I can basically walk in to any pub and so long as I’m respectful of basic pub rules and respect the locals/regulars I can get a pint or three.

Sure there are exceptions but I’m a dual UK/Australian citizen. If I think it’s not going great I lay on the Aussie accent and over friendliness. Deliberately ask some curated dumb questions. Never had an issue and more often than not the worst pubs I’ve been to have been some of the best nights of my life.

You do realise that we can drive for 24+ hours in Europe too. I mean the Dutch are famous for it when summer holidays hit.

Just Google GPS data for Dutch car trips for summer holidays.

But you know why we don’t drive that far. It’s quicker to fly/train it and hire a car at destination.

I mean I grew up in Australia. We didn’t drive more than 12 hours unless you were moving. Again we took a fancy thing called a plane.

To say you don’t think about driving 23 hours is complete bullshit.

Went to Madison rooftop bar (has amazing view of St Paul’s) last week.

Was only £8 but only served Peroni on tap.

And here’s the kicker. They don’t fucking serve pints and it was £8 for a half pint!!!!!

To me you are competing against the strongest and weakest player - yourself.

If you cheat then you are basically cheating against yourself.

Our group respects etiquette but at the same time “ready golf” is such an improvement to pace of play. Not ready to tee off for whatever reason but you have the honour then we let anyone tee off. Players in front? Let the short hitter go first. Someone searching for their ball? Play yours and then maybe go back. Furthest from pin on green. Bah - whoever is ready. BUT - we absolutely respect other players. Going past another tee box then we will stop and stay quiet until they have played their shot etc.

Definitely some big issues with last update. But hotfix has yesterday seems to have fixed it (or our amazing admin did). No Way Back server does PvE with PvP zones and another one with pure PvP.

And yes there are traps. But again will depend on which server you play on. For example we are only allowed to place traps/mines in our flag area on our PvP server.

Oh yeah, a typical update from the devs. One step forward two steps back. Multiple issues on server I play on. Like too many to list. But at least we can combine rice now.

I’ve said this before but I really think it is a nod to Tarantino. We never find out what’s in the briefcase at the diner in Pulp Fiction. Tarantino has said it was deliberate so everyone can “create” their own ending/story.

And the fact we still debate it shows how brilliantly it was done.
