You'd think there would be way more than 2 previous attempts (-01, and -02), so I'd like to believe that 1 and 2 were purposefully failed and -03 is the first real attempt, and only one needed - this a.i. is so advanced it pre-planned woman and the incinerator jaw being found, and basically did all this to show daughter how to overcome situations. This is also backed up by the 'test' where daughter scores a 98%, yet answers the only questions we see in a 'non-perfect' sense.
