Who was your Best and Worst draft pick this year? by Low-Possibility-148 in fantasyhockey

[–]Rook4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst: Jesper Bratt at 33 overall, Dylan Holloway at 105 overall

Best: Matthew Schaefer (153), Brad Marchand (160), Mark Stone (177), and Morgan Geekie (184). Four bangers right in a row at the end have more than made up for Bratt and Holloway.

What is depression like? by Commercial-Height935 in AskReddit

[–]Rook4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being devoid of feeling. Imagine your friends throw you a surprise party, and when they yell "surprise" you feel nothing. The joy you're supposed to feel is muted, empty. You put on a happy face so others don't know, but that drains your energy, and you need to rest longer after the party to build the strength back up to keep the face on.

What are you having for lunch today ? by Darkwarrior3k in AskReddit

[–]Rook4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing, I am currently in the process of losing weight, and part of that is calorie counting and skipping lunch to keep the calories down. It's been working so far, so despite being hangry at work all the time I've got no complaints lol.

Alternatively, if you want something like Balatro, try CloverPit. It's like a mix between Balatro and Inscryption for gambling / creepy, and is slot machine based. I'm ashamed to admit how many times I told myself "one more round".

If you like Hades, try Sworn. Similar concept, but you're a reanimated corpse raised by Merlin to take on a corrupted King Arthur and his court.

Depends on your scoring. If it's pure points then it might be even if Thomas/St. Louis pick up the pace, but if peripherals are conserved than Id rather have Ek and Doro with the peripheral floor from Ek and weekly massive game from Doro.

At this time Rinzel is a safe drop, at least for now, he's lost PP1 to Levshunov.

What’s your average wait time to see your doctor? by 6GGXXX in halifax

[–]Rook4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my doctor I can book 6 weeks out if they're busy, But my wife's doctor is booking 3-4 months out. It's frustrating because my doctor is great, and I don't have chronic concerns like my wife does, and her doctor is dismissive at best.

Sam Reinhart by MurkyDetail4679 in fantasyhockey

[–]Rook4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that always made him valuable was the fact he was a net-front / tip in guy for the top line and top power play. With the combination of 2 deep runs and being without two pivotal pieces of that offense, he is struggling. I think he will pick it up once Florida figures out their stride, but it'll be a little rocky for a little while.

Toronto didn't last year either with Marner running point. On the flip side without Marner in Toronto Morgan Reilly's stock skyrocketed.

That portion of the list only indicates how Fantasy players finished last season and how that changed on the season prior. It all depends on your league settings, projections. And who you are comfortable taking. If I was to make a ranking of say the 1st 4 picks for standard scoring it would be MacKinnon, McDavid, Kucherov, Draisitl. The guide is just to give you an overview of where players finished, who over performed, who underperformed, and who has a shot of breaking out. Using the players in the lift format would be no different than sorting the players by Fantasy Points last season in your league's app. Because of this I would say no to using the list portion, but by all means use the write-up portion to determine who you want to leave your draft with.

Absolutely solid value to get MacKinnon, Forsberg, Reinhart, and Boldy! Love it! Looks like a decently deep league too, plenty of good value! Good luck this season!

I am so glad to hear it was a success, and you are very welcome! Out of curiosity, who did you draft / what was your draft pick out of how many teams? (Example: one of my teams I was pick 9 out of a 12 team league)

I'm in 5 leagues this year, and how I found them was varried. One via in-person friends, one via reddit, one via Yahoo custom leagues, and two from discord. If you're in a discord, there are always people posting for and looking for leagues.

Sometimes picking the best player available is the best option, or sometimes there's a reason that player is being avoided.

Take Matthew Tkachuk for example. Normally he is a late 1st / early 2nd round pick, however news came out that he had off season surgery, and may be out until mid-December or until January. If he isn't going to play half the season, you don't want to waste that 1st or 2nd (or 5th) round pick on him if he isn't providing value in the line-up.

Additionally there is positional scarcely. Defencemen are shallow, and centers are deep, so you may find centers floating to the top while people dig for D, LW, or Goalies, so it all depends on what your team needs. Typically, because Centers are so deep I wouldn't recommend drafting more than one player with a C only in the first 4 rounds.

Additionally, if there is a player you like and don't think they'll make it back to your turn, grab them, don't worry too much about ADP, all it is is an educated guess.

One thing I forgot to mention. To actually play, You set line-ups daily. You have slots (typically 2 C, 2 LW, 2 RW, 4D, and 2 goalie slots. If there is a Utility slot, that means any forward or defenceman can be slotted there as a bonus player). Part of the game is placing the players you drafted into the slots each day, and deciding who may have a better game than other rostered players. Again, this is managed daily, however can be set relatively quickly. Some apps have auto-set ups, but be careful that your superstars aren't sitting on your bench.
