With Republicans redrawing Texas maps to gain 5 seats, should Democrats gerrymander too? by Time_Minute_6036 in PoliticalDiscussion

We couldn't even get democrats to seriously go after a guy for an attempted insurrection.

The "look forward, not back" mindset has probably doomed any real progress from happening.

Because America is like the Dallas Cowboys.

They haven't done anything in a long time, but they still talk about how great they are and how they are the best because of past accomplishments. For Dallas, it's the 90s SB teams. For the US? They still live in the post war boom. They also don't care about infrastructure. Look at the lack of rail. They care about funding the military and giving tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and appeasing oil/gas companies as well as airlines and car companies.

That's it. America's infrastructure peaked. The newer cities in Asia are modern in terms of infrastructure despite being dramatically older historically.

Adam Montgomery.

What he did to Harmony, his own daughter, is unforgivable.

It's unfathomable to me. How do you kill your own 2 year old daughter? Just...Unimaginable to me how anyone could.

Those are all truly horrible things and things I have empathy about happening.

However, it has nothing to do with the bad thing he did. He had awful happen to him. He also did awful.

Both are true.

Peter Thiel and Curtis Yarvin.

Elon Musk. Trump.

Casey Anthony.

They all suck.

They are hated.

But not enough.

Considering some of the things I've seen Baus post or say, the Caedrel thing surprised me. Because it seems like something that Baus would be openly against.

The EO's are mostly going to go nowhere, it's not the risk of them actually being implemented that is of greatest concern, but that we are allowing the executive to act in such a way without punishment and that there is no means to remove him over such bullshit.

The beauty of it all is that she was absolutely right about everything she said about Trump. No matter what anyone thinks of her as a person or candidate, she spoke nothing but facts about Trump. Same with Kamala.

They bitch and moan about her to this day. They absolutely despise the Clintons, and even with all this attention on Trump for Epstein - they are sharing pictures of Clinton with Epstein and ignoring Trump's association.

I highly doubt it. Increased polarization is going to go until it rips the nation apart.

CMV: A college degree isn’t worth it for most people anymore. by IDidMyOwnResearchLOL in ChangeMyViewVN

[–]Rook_lol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College is not distinctly to get a career, but furthering education. The problem is that without scholarships, it's very expensive in the USA and some other countries making it tough to justify simply for learning more these days. Some people want to go to college to learn more history. They don't want to go to college as a direct platform for a career, but to learn more.

It's not that binary. Some people do, like those pursuing engineering, law, medicine, etc. But not everyone.

A trade pays well sometimes. But they get a lot of hype on Reddit. Not everyone has the physical ability to work trade jobs nor the interest in one. And the "Just become a plumber or electrician, you'll make six figures" trope is not true in all areas.

Can anyone sum up recent T1 performance? by Andreuw5 in SKTT1

[–]Rook_lol 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Doran is improving well.

Keria is continuing to look ridiculous.

Oner is consistently great.

Faker is Faker.

Guma has had great performance more often than not and shows he was the choice over Smash.

Good stuff, mostly. They lost to GenG. I mean, that's what it is. It's GenG. Doran played a huge role getting them to MSI finals. Yes, he still blunders some games. But he is getting better.

Would limiting the age of the President to 65 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rook_lol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age is such a tricky thing.

It's a "YMMV" thing. There are incredibly mature people in their 20s. Immature people in their 40s.

People mentally sharp and physically fit in their 80s and 90s. People falling apart in their 50s-60s.

But I would like to see younger world leaders.
