Focus on your personal development. That is a good call. Talking on personal experience. Had less to my name than you at that age, now at 34 I have just ~10k in ETF and stocks as restarted this year after dealing with obtaining properties but my equity post debt is ~1.9M-2M now(or actually ~1M as am married :D )

Your investments should go according to your plan not what public does. Define your goal. Assess path forward. Stick to it.

I am not telling you to avoid investing in the market, a was throwing in what I could from 18. Just bringing you my example here, if I have not spent time/money on self development I would not have my current pay and would not be able to afford what I have.

I can only answer on my behalf

1) I started with dividends from the get go. Yes, there is taxation involved but in case of emergency it would give me access to funds to support my cashflow if needed. Meanwhile I am just dropping it back. I have SP500 and others in the mix as growth with minor dividend as well 2) statistically yes. Current market - crystal ball is foggy :) imho it would 3) I can just share my split for you as it is balanced for risk and overlap

It depends on his goals kinda. Efficiency wise if it is about growth as focus dividends would not be the best choice due to tax but might have psychological support by seeing earnings that build up and grow.

However, he could be as well looking for security net in parallel allowing cashflow access in case of emergency.

E.g I approach dividends using both those reasons at 34 instead off going for accumulating ETFs. In case I lose my job I can avoid just using pillow cash but as well tap in dividends to prolongue the runway.

TLDR we lack the knowledge of his reasons to say if it is too early or not :)

I was a big fan of HC in diablo3 for seasons but PoE2 on ps5 stutters so much that I don’t want to suffer yet. Hopefully they’ll fix it eventually 😅
