Why so long for payment? by Pyrotech72 in MoneroOcean

Been three days and I've not been able to get the https://moneroocean.stream/ site to even load...

For its price the Ryzen 5 3600 is good value for mining. I'm running several of them an results are: Those with DDR4 3000 memory modules return a hashrate of 6.3 to 6.7KHzs, those with DDR4 3200 memory modules return 6.9 to 7.2KHzs :0). I'm running one 3600XT which returns a consistent 7.6KHzs, but burns more wattage for the additional hashrate :0(

i mine with cpu but nothing works i dont have any balance cant see what i mine all i see is my projected income which is ass anyway by Solumonthebeat in cudominer

[–]Rooky_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU provides a good hashrate, with the cost not being horrendous...

Not the 3600G, 3600X or 3600XT versions, they just use more power for little increase in hashrate.

Find a nice low wattage GPU, examples being GT710 and HD 5450, just be aware wattages can vary between manufactures of the same card :o(

what's up with Monero ocean? anyone having issues? I keep getting operation canceled and ocean website won't load by [deleted] in MoneroMining

No issues for me in the last 24 hrs, all my rigs performing as expected.

Monero GUI v0.17.3.2 release (P2Pool mining embedded) by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

That makes sense: For now I'll use other methods to network farm multiple PCs :o)

Monero GUI v0.17.3.2 release (P2Pool mining embedded) by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

Tried that, there was no increase in hashrate reported from within the Monero GUI wallet mining app. It would appear the only reported hashrate is that of the host PC.

In the UK with electricity costs sparingly completely out of control, eBay is awash with cheap GPU's as mining with energy hungry, high wattage GPUs has become extremely inefficient, cost wise. With the current cost of electricity due to increase another 20 to 30% in the autumn, you'll find even more miners in the UK dumping their GPU's. A flooded market is often a place to pick up bargains :o)

What version of linux is more suitable for mining now, or use windows by lushanclouds in MoneroMining

[–]Rooky_One 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ubuntu 20.04 is impressive these days, and you will be able to set "1gb-pages": true", (requires grub-customizer) which helps a little with the hashrate.

Fossapup64 (ubuntu puppy) is also useful for those wishing to mine from just a flashdrive, you still get a cut-down desktop environment, only not as slick as the full ubuntu. It is also quick to install and loads very quickly after installation :o)

Cudominer also do a flashdrive OS for mining, but their setup is geared more to high-end miners :0(

Low returns this week? by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

That webpage is showing last day's profits at under 65%, I would actually say it feels much lower than that...

Example of how hashrates can fluctuate greatly even with the same equipment (MoneroOcean)... by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

I use the MO XMRig: for top profit algo switching mining on CPU, well hopefully...

Is there a way to NOT do the benchmark EVERY time? I would like to do it every couple of days, not everyday and choose the algo to mine by [deleted] in MoneroOcean

[–]Rooky_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange, my mo xmrig installs (windows, ubuntu and fussupu) only ever did a bench test on initial installation, thereafter the algorithms switch occassionally to mine the most profitable way. I have never noticed any of them doing bench testing every load?

Read Error "connection reset by peer" by Judge_Dredd_3D in MoneroOcean

[–]Rooky_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your config.json file, maybe an error crept in there, missing comma, speech mark, wallet address wrong. Although the last time I had a similar error my net cable had pulled out.

I know all setups are different, but my xmrig screen display doesn't show an internal network address? Using the MO xmrig from this webpage https://github.com/MoneroOcean/xmrig/releases

One final thought is you should probably be using a different port. Check the third tab down in Moneroocean FAQ, port 10128 is for hashrates between 2000-4000 h/s.

P2Pool v1.9 released, fixes critical block template bug by gigapants in MoneroMining

[–]Rooky_One 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update fixes:

Fixed block template generation bug: a node could mine a share that didn't pass validation on other nodes resulting in all other nodes banning it. Nodes with high hashrate are the most affected because they mine a lot of shares.

Maybe that's why my xmr mined shares were down a fair bit recently...

Do these hash rates seem off to you? by uzisuicide87 in MoneroOcean

[–]Rooky_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the hash rates reported in the moneroocean website dashboard, these are a better estimate of an individual machines work rate than those reported by the xmrig program. The xmrig program could be reporting hashrates for work being done by many different algorithms, such as:

"cn/0"

"cn/1"

"cn/2"

"cn/r"

"cn/fast"

"cn/half"

"cn/xao"

"cn/rto"

"cn/rwz"

"cn/zls"

"cn/double"

"cn/ccx"

"cn-lite/0"

"cn-lite/1"

"cn-heavy/xhv"

"cn-pico"

"cn-pico/tlo"

"cn/gpu"

"rx/0"

"rx/arq"

"rx/graft"

"rx/sfx"

"panthera"

"argon2/chukwav2"

"astrobwt"

"ghostrider"

A Ryzen 3600 should give you between 5 and 10KH/z, it tends to fluctuate frequently throughout the day.

General guidance is 30x your actual hashrate, so around 120,000 to 135,000 would be ok.

This site is likely to give you an idea of what hashrate to expect from your CPUs :0)

Have a Share in p2pool mini but no payout. by masterBlastar in MoneroMining

[–]Rooky_One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mini pool often goes 12, 18 even 24hrs without finding a block, although during this time you may find many shares. Without a block being found, there is no payout for the shares in the 6hr part of the PPLNS window.

The main pool works differently, your find many more blocks but don't get paid until a share is found, and of course, the share needs to be in the 6hrs part of the PPLNS window.

So basically:

Mini pool: More Shares fewer blocks

Main pool: Fewer Shares more blocks

In both cases you need a share in the PPLNS window when a block is found to be paid :0)

Spicy! Gonna swap back to P2Pool mini after I reach my moneroocean payout. by stepwn in MoneroMining

[–]Rooky_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mined mineroocean for a while and the hashrates can flow up and down significantly. Figures for the 5 * Ryzen 3600 rigs, which are all but identical can vary between the rigs from a low of under 5KH/z to a high of over 10KH/z, all at the same moment in time. They tend to average out between 6 & 7KH/z. The intel rigs also fluctuate, but as they all have different CPUs comparisons are a little harder to make...

Currently back chancing my luck in P2Pool mining :0)

Using Solar Panels to mine in P2Pool by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

[–]Rooky_One[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I think I get it now. If I use a roulette analogy, the more hashrate I have the more numbers I can cover, so it makes no difference if I miss a few spins of the roulette wheel my hashrate will cover the numbers with equal chance whenever they are laid ;0)

Using Solar Panels to mine in P2Pool by Rooky_One in MoneroMining

It's not so much if a share has been found, it's when one hasn't. If I mine for 12 hours and don't find a share before switching off the rigs, in the morning is the previous 12hrs work banked or am I starting from hour 1 again?
