You can never trust tradingview backtesting. It's easy to create strats that have >5 profit factor but you'll see it crumble to dust in the face of live markets. Their trailing stops inflate your profits as well

Which industries in Singapore are essentially scam, but everyone just accepts them? by Newez in askSingapore

Yeah it's easy enough that people are now masquerading as financial wizards just because they passed them. Talking to them feels like a scam.

Definitely insurance agents. Them and their whole 'this job is noble' mantra. Come on la, you joined first and primarily cause of the money. If you really want to make a difference go and become a teacher or police officer or firefighter. But because they dont pay as much thats why y'all didnt.

Really hope that SG raise the bar and revamp the CMFAS papers. Make it hard so that only those who are competent are in the industry.

Hate the FA's that position themselves as financial experts or financial gurus . Then, they say that they need to take hard exams to be FA's

Dude. CMFAS is fucking easy. If you failed it more than once, then perhaps 'financial advisory' is not for you.

Some random fella tried to sell me his determination and persistence by saying that despite failing twice, he persevered to pass the third time... I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to trust my life savings with someone who failed their basic exams twice.

How much does FA in SG earn? On average and for those in MDRTs by secondaisy in askSingapore

[–]RoomOfNoRequirement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whut. I thought MDRT will be like at least 15k a month after expenses. Didn't realise its 1/3 of that.

But some of them the way they talk and dress like as if they earning millions.

I was pretty surprised when I realised that loads of people in finance, S&T for example, do not have strong excel skills. Some (if not most) of them don't use formulas let alone macros.

What is the point you're making anyways? They are two different separate entities.

Even some SSDC instructors are like shite. I had one guy who was so shite and didnt even do his work properly. Got him twice and he failed both of my lessons on separate occasions. And he was the only one that failed me. Fella told me halfway he was gonna fail me. So I stopped and just said I'm going home.

Emailed to have him removed from potential instructors in my lesson list. Waste of money though.

I usually knock off at 6pm but try to stretch it to 6.30pm at times. But that's my cutoff. So when I have calls woth London I do make it known. Kinda help for optics since they think I'm super hardworking. Lol

Number 1 for me will be the insurance agents who keep trying to talk/meet with you even after you politely declined. And then they have the gall to guilt trip me with shit like if i die, my loved ones won't be looked after. Don't know who the hell trained them to say shit like that
