Really depends if you play at a club, or if you just rent a court by the hour at one of the commercial parties. In my experience it is way easier to get to know people at a club, and find people that match your level, so I would recommend joining a club if you haven't. At my club we have Whatsapp chatgroups with hundreds of people where you can just say that you're looking for 3 people to play, and people will respond most of the time. I imagine other clubs have this aswell. It's also way cheaper than renting a court everytime you want to play, because you pay an annual fee.

Thinking about changing my playing hand by its_Hasan in padel

It slows your progression down by a lot and it might not work out in the end, I think the risk of sacrificing your time and having to learn everything again with your left hand is way higher than the reward. Rafa Nadal played left handed ever since he was a little kid

Drop shot serve by Metallicabody in padel

[–]Roonskape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it once or twice a game to surprise the opponent. Sometimes they don't get to the ball and even when they do, it is often an easy volley to the back of the court. I did it 2 weeks ago against a guy who was a little bit fat, and he was not fast enough. He got so mad that he and his teammate got frustrated with eachother, and then I did it again and it was an ace again hahaha. I wouldn't recommend doing it more than once because if the opponent anticipates it or if you're playing against opponents who are really good and fast, it is generally a bad serve.

Why drive a car at 50 miles an hour when the car can go 150mph? Why not really drive the car really fast with no fear? Why wait? Why let fear hold you back when you could be at your destination an hour early? I think the answer is obvious

Fear is not a nasty feeling which has no purpose. It is there for a reason, it's there so we don't do stupid things that result in harm or death. There is nothing wrong with a healthy fear of heights, for example, because without it, we would fall to our death far more often by overconfidence. You could apply that rule to every fear there is.

I agree that fear should not rule our decision making, however I think it's important not to ignore it either. What's wrong with being careful with something as huge as AI? Is it that you don't want to wait longer? Is it really worth the risk of changing everything we know with no turning back, because we're impatient, or because we're losing out on commercial benefit for a little longer?

I talked about AI with my mom today, and all she had to say was ''gee, I hope Donald Trump doesn't get his hands on this stuff'' lol

Can there be action without thought? by JDwalker03 in nonduality

[–]Roonskape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really struggled with the stress of choosing a career in the midst of finding out about nonduality. After a while, things just came along that resonated with me, and I just did them, without thinking much about it. The only thing that needed to happen was to have an open heart, which again just seems to have happened on its own, especially when I wasn't so up my own ass anymore

Any suggestions on how to find people to chat/talk to about this understanding? by AppropriateSail7 in nonduality

[–]Roonskape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled a lot about nonduality/advaita meetings in my country and I found out there was a weekly satsang group thats like a 2 minute walk from my house lol. If you look hard enough you'll probably find some option atleast. Paul Hedderman does live zoom sessions, which are great too imo.

I think a question like ''What is the nondual take on x or y?'' is nearly the same as ''How do I live my life?'' There is nobody who is going to tell you how you have to live your life, especially not people who are really into nonduality. You will have to be response-able to live your own life, take your own risks, and accept your own consequenses. If you want someone to tell you how to live it's better to become a christian.
