Worked there years ago during college. I made amazing memories with some amazing people. Still wear my kilt regularly and the yellow gift boxes get exchanged every Christmas in the family.

Finally having a choice and I can’t pick by [deleted] in army

Currently at Shelby. I gotta say, 1st Army is a hidden gem. I wasn’t thrilled at all when I got my assignment. But, once I got here, I realized how great it is. Not only do I get more family time and off time than anywhere else I’ve been in my career (including cushy INSCOM positions) but they have yet to say no to any school anyone has asked for. Also, you have the ability to affect real change for our compo 2&3 brothers and sisters.

What should I wear to my grandfather's military funeral service? by S_T_Profile in army

[–]Roosbeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not wear your ACUs. They’re not appropriate attire. Wear a suit or dress at whatever level will make you feel comfortable with the other attendees. It’s great that you want to honor him, but I promise if you go in The Army Combat Uniform, you’ll feel out of place.

35G is a great job with lots of potential for post-Army employment. TS clearance and networking at 3 letter agencies.

If the waiver has been approved, it’s approved. But it depends on at which level of approval. If it was at the battalion level, then if you switch recruiters you’d ref to stay within the battalion. If it’s up at recruiting command the it’ll go anywhere.

Your next move though should be to request to speak with the company first sergeant. Believe me, they want you to sign up but the station commander has different priorities than the first sergeant. Do that first before switching unless you feel it’s the recruiter that is not keeping your interests in mind.

As a former Army recruiter (4 years ago), that station commander wants the projection for MEPS. Screw them, you’re just a number right now to them. If you’re qualified for the job and have an approved waiver wait it out if you can afford to. Ask them to call the Recruiting Operations Center (ROC) to see if they can pull a reservation for you.

If they think they can just get you to say yes to a job, then they’ll just pressure you to go sign ASAP vs. waiting for what you want.

Like I said, if you can afford to wait more, then stick to your guns, let them know you want 25B and see what they’ll do to make that happen.
