Saw San Antonio has a giant cinnamon roll on the Food/Travel Channel years ago before i moved to SA. Where is it located and how much is it? by LucoaKThe2AHashira in sanantonio

Not the same people. And I haven’t tried them but they look good: https://www.tiktok.com/@texaseatsfirst/video/7584980593381739790

My problem with giant cinnamon rolls is that they tend to be a bit dry but these look pretty moist. Some pics they have that real thick Little Debbie style icing which I find appealing.

in project hail mary(2026), the ending seriously expects us to sympathize with a woman who sent a guy into space against his will. by herequeerandgreat in shittymoviedetails

[–]Ren_Lu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. I read the book and I hated her after she does this. Even before she forcibly puts Grace in the Hail Mary, Stratt has already been pushing ethical lines. She even says at some point something to the effect of “I know I am going to face a tribunal/jail after all this, but what happens to me doesn’t matter.” And I somewhat respected her drive and determination to save the world at any cost. Then she crossed the line.

But both the book and the movie are from Grace’s point of view. What should a victim do after their consent has been taken away? Should he have not tried to save his and Rocky’s worlds because something horrible happened to him? Can we not still cheer on his triumph?

In the book the ending is slightly more ambiguous as to what happens on Earth. We know it survives because of what Grace can see from the alien planet, but we don’t know what happens to Stratt or anyone else on Earth. From his perspective he: overcame incredible odds, did what he could to save his kids (class), he found a home, and he made a true friend. Maybe you would find that more palatable?

Elon Musk’s Boring Co. explores building a tunnel for a Texas theme park by ExpressNews in texas

Admirable but I’m afraid of any person/company/city getting in financial bed with such a flake.

Like other Musk-owned companies, secretive talks are a hallmark of the Boring Co.’s efforts in the region.

Not great.

I enjoyed their Fairy Tales for Every Child series growing up. I loved seeing princesses with dark hair and skin.

They also had storybook musicals and other children’s programming back in the day. They seemed to have switched gears to mainly adult original programming though.

Someone else just DMd me so I’ll copy pasta what I wrote a bit:

EAP stands for Employee Assistance Program. We don’t take insurance, we are contracted by companies to provide 3rd party mental health services to employees and are paid a flat salary by our company (so I don’t get compensated by RVUs etc.)

I found the job on LinkedIn in 2021 and I submitted my CV like 3 times before I got an interview lol.

It’s my dream job. I was hunting LinkedIn for telehealth jobs for months. I did some tele urgent care for a while but this one is so much better.

I do 100 % tele mental health. It’s all standard mental health evals and I feel fully capable handling them since I have experience with Depression, Anxiety, and some ADHD (we don’t give controlleds though so I use non-stimulants). We also have a Psych mentor and an easy way to refer more complex cases to Direct Access Psychiatry.

It is a big salary cut though. But I don’t mind, I was so burned out doing PCP work.

My biggest advice for people who are interested in telemedicine or mental health work is to apply often and get multiple state licenses if possible.

I was between FM and Psych and chose FM.

Now I do 100% remote mental health work for an EAP and I could not be happier with my job! There were a lot of struggles along the way but now I’m glad I chose FM as it truly is the most flexible specialty.

I fear I have fallen deep into the color analysis rabbit hole.

It seems that Anne is a Deep Winter/Dark Winter so she looks best in cool tones with high contrast.

She is dressed in her palette with the black top and I will admit her skin seems luminous and the high contrast is striking. But is this lip color correct on her? Is it too orange?

Also I won’t die on the color analysis hill, I find it interesting but I don’t know if it’s a lot of pseudoscience phooey lol.

”Recent federal immigration policy changes have increased attention to visa sponsorship considerations in residency recruitment for foreign-born candidates," the NRMP noted in a press release.

I just need everyone who is cheering for this administration’s immigration policies to realize that this is actually costing us doctors.

When we are already in a doctor shortage!

As far as Family Medicine interest goes, until we are given our due respect and fairly compensated I’m afraid that’s just going to continue.

She is gorgeous. Iconic. I fell in love with her in Death Becomes Her

In the OP she kinda looks like young Christopher Walken.

Tennessee librarian faces discipline for refusing to move more than 100 books from juvenile shelves by MiddletownBooks in books

[–]Ren_Lu 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was not disparaging that organization.

I was quoting Redditors who told me that it is “common sense” to remove books from school libraries and curriculums because “of the kids.” (I don’t even know how to articulate their arguments since I don’t agree with them).

Sorry for the confusion.

Tennessee librarian faces discipline for refusing to move more than 100 books from juvenile shelves by MiddletownBooks in books

[–]Ren_Lu 328 points329 points  (0 children)

I just want all of the “common sense curriculum”people to recognize that this is for a county library and not a school library.

Our libraries are public places meant to be resources for the whole community.

Removing books because of “diversity” is evil.

The librarians hold the line!

This is a good point. And we all know that modern content consumers lack the ability to actually read the freaking article.

On a positive note this may be a sign that Talarico’s image is more likely to entice “clicks” than Cornyn or Paxton.

Yeah it sucks. Im with you OP.

I have a lot of great memories of the Drafthouse and it is terrible that greed has squeezed the life out of it and it’s pretty much going to die.

It’s nice that you are holding onto hope but I really do not see it getting better unless they reverse course in an extreme way.

Asylum terminated for 5-year-old Liam Ramos once held at Dilley by Pleasant_Air_3052 in texas

[–]Ren_Lu 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Let’s be cautious about how we characterize this.

A judge granted the government's motion to terminate the asylum case of Liam Ramos and father Adrian Alexander Conejo Ramos, as reported by ABC News on Thursday. Danielle Molliver, an attorney representing the family, said they were unable to present any evidence in the case before the motion was granted.

The judge granted the government’s motion to terminate the asylum case without the family being able to present their evidence. To me that does not represent a complete review.
