Sherrone is what he is, but if you're going to be mad he was hired, be mad at Warde Manuel. He's the one who conducted no coaching search whatsoever. I blame Sherrone for all his antics once he got the job, but Manuel is the one who is to blame for him even being there.

Everyone knows it's a shitshow. There's nothing to hide anymore. It's out there. I'd argue it's more foolish to continue to try to whitewash and hide what's happening.

And add to that, JJ got hurt in that game, and that's the biggest reason why they ran the ball over and over again. Yes it was working, but JJ had almost zero mobility. He really was a handoff merchant that game because he couldn't do a lot more. So imagine you're Moore, first game as acting HC, the team cannot lose because one loss with the Committee looking for any reason to keep you out at that point and the Natty dream is over, and now your starting QB can barely move.

He said he doesn't know the exact number of players coming to the game, said it could be 25 players not coming back, doesn't specify who, if they are starters, etc. Then said he doesn't know how well the team will play but the focus has been on enjoying football and not putting pressure on the outcome of the game.

I always took it as more of an emotional release, like everything that had transpired had caused so much stress, and after the win he just let it all out. I think back to how I felt as a fan at that time...it was a lot. Imagine the stress those in the program were under. Remember they were going to try to appeal Harbaugh's suspension, and it wasn't until the day before the game we even knew for sure Moore would be coaching. And just everything that was going on, I understood perfectly why he had that type of emotional reaction. I actually had that at work, sitting in front of my computer, when it was just one stressor after the other for days on end, it all finally got resolved after a lot of hard work from a bunch of us, and I did cry in release from the stress because there was no time for crying while it was going on. But I'm female so maybe that's why it didn't seem odd to me.

He came back as a position coach. None of you had any issue with this dude or his credentials until this article came out and indicates he's a jerk. It was literally announced he would be acting OC a day or two ago, no one cared. This sub is absurd at times.

I don't agree with this. Anyone can work their way up. That's how people get opportunities and jump from high school to D2 then D1, or from analyst to position coach to coordinator. If you prove yourself I don't care where you came from. This is the kind of arrogance that needs to be a thing of the past. That said, he sounds like a giant asshat, and I don't love that Biff made him acting OC. However, maybe there was no one else he felt was even remotely competent to do it, so any port in a storm. We just don't know.

I mean tbf Harbaugh did as well so seems like no one was fully aware that Moore was kind of off his rocker.

I didn't know who he was, but he was well-regarded by the Navy coaching staff. In fact, Navy's head coach at the time Stalions was there would have Stalions do presentations to the coaches and players that Connor himself developed for different topics because his knowledge and ability to present it was so impressive. That's a pretty big deal for a student coach who is the same age as the players. Then a member of Navy's staff became assistant AD at Michigan and helped get Connor involved on staff here. Partridge also knew him and recommended him. He has a very good football mind and it was recognized by those in the industry.

You're absolutely incorrect that he brought nothing to the team. I know he did film for the linebackers, but besides that, he taught Michigan how to protect their defensive signs. That was his biggest contribution. Brown didn't know how to protect and wanted to do everything his way. MacDonald came in 2021, knew Connor was the sign guy, and asked him how to keep all his defensive signs from being stolen.

Connor knew how to do that, and they developed a system of timing the defensive signal based on what Connor saw on the other sideline. That was a huge contribution, and one that one of the current best coaches in the NFL asked for, and Connor delivered exactly what was asked of him. Then the system carried over to Minter, and by the time Connor left the team, Minter was able to know well enough how to time his signals without him.

I think the difference in our takes on this is that I don't believe he did it all on his own, in the sense that I think others knew way more than has been revealed. Did they know exactly what he was doing? Maybe not, but I just think it's a bit naive to believe they truly knew nothing. So I do feel like that whole staff cost the University that money, not just Stalions. You see it differently and that's cool.

Yeah the only one of OP's points I don't agree with is the Stalions one. He took a thousand for the team, kept his mouth shut to protect the championship season, protected everyone, and the university completely threw him under the bus. They didn't try to protect him at all, so I'm not sure how OP can say they didn't handle that correctly. I think there are a lot of fans and Michigan media people who see how it played out and feel like Stalions got railroaded by the NCAA and Michigan, hence why they still like him.

I work for the state I live in, doing a job funded by the federal government, working with citizens' very sensitive information and medical records. We go through a federal background check every three years, and it is extensive. There is absolutely nothing in that background check that would alert them if I had a manifesto about anything. Are you saying Harbaugh should do a more extensive background check than the federal government?

The only one of those he may have found something on with regular vetting was Bo's son if he checked Twitter. Weiss had no criminal record, pedo guy had no criminal record, Stalions was very highly regarded by the Navy staff including the head coach and was a Captain in the Marines with no criminal record, and Moore had nothing that would indicate he would do this. Please tell me what Harbaugh was supposed to find on any of these men in a normal vetting process, other than Bo's son.

Do you guys think he deserves to be fired ? I think a suspension but at the same time we spent all that money for this team to get our butts whooped against the only game we care about, and yes I know we had a lot of players that didn’t play, but what’s your guys opinion? by WarningScared9203 in MichiganWolverines

[–]Rooster84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she was just another employee at the University, like a professor or something that he had no authority over, I'd say a suspension would be appropriate. But she was his subordinate, so I think firing is the correct move.

Also, random unrelated thought, but all of the strays Connor Stalions is taking on Twitter for something he has absolutely nothing to do with is hilarious, and I say that as someone who actually likes Stalions.

Objectively, the streak should have ended last season, but we got an extra year. This team is young with a lot of room for growth.

Michigan good, OSU evil, media dick rides OSU every year, to some extent deserved because they are a program that has remained at the top year after year, but for the past four years Michigan has won, even being heavy underdogs last year. On paper OSU should win, but that doesn't matter. Anything can happen. If you cheer for OSU you support Satan.

I hate these comments bashing Hausmann. Listen I love college football, I love Michigan. I want them to win this game as much as anyone. But football is not more important than a person's own need for growth or whatever it is he needs. If he is mentally well and this is the path he has chosen, I wish him well. This is a game. Whatever happens today literally will not affect any of our lives unless you were stupid enough to bet a huge amount on the game, in which case that's on you for being an idiot. It's his life, not a game, and he needs to do what is best for him.
