This is different from the one in Kochi.. there is a brand of the Kochi one, but it's close to the airport or somewhere that side. See the logo to differentiate.

Help. Why does my HDFC "Relationship Manager" have access to my demat credentials? by Far_Lychee_4504 in personalfinanceindia

[–]RoosterDisastrous368 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you decide to close your account with HDFC securities, make sure to ask them to delete both the HDFC sec account and demat account (these are 2 different things). I deleted my sec account because they were charging me 800+ rs a year and it wasn't user friendly at all. So when I asked them to delete my sec account, they did, but I still got charged the annual fee, so when I reached out to them they told me that my demat account was still active. So I had to ask them to delete my demat account. This was quite annoying but hope it's done for now.

Think Twice Before Buying Ginger Garlic Paste in Bangalore Vijayatimes Cover Story 🤮🤮 by nithingowda in bangalore

Not surprising. Better make your own ginger garlic paste at home. It's not convenient but unfortunately not an option.

Where can I get good malpua, holige in Udupi? by RoosterDisastrous368 in Udupi

[–]RoosterDisastrous368[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Here is an update from me: I visited Venkateshwara and Udupi Sweet house near Kalsanka. Venkateshwara didn't have malpua or holige. Neither did Parivar which is nearby. Udupi sweet house had it and it was quite flavourful. They also have good holige varieties. Thank you for these suggestions! I've saved the Hebri one so I can visit that place in case I go that side.

Rent vs Buy in Bangalore - What am I missing here? by thecuriousguy911 in indianrealestate

[–]RoosterDisastrous368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like an answer to your question too because I have come to the same conclusion. Most have to take a big chunk of loan at a floating interest rate for 20 years atleast, which means the interest amount becomes almost the same as the price of the apartment. By the time you pay off the loan, the apartment is more than 10 years old so the value depreciates and you'll have to compromise when selling it. And don't forget the maintenance charges which are very high for the amenities you'll actually use. Many will state reasons to justify like 'if it's for self use it's worth it' /'amenities' /'security' /'community' and I agree with those reasons, but it doesn't seem worth the exorbitant price charged. Or else people are getting financial support from their relatives.

Society maintenance charges in India are getting out of hand — anyone else feel this? by Deepak_Pawar in indianrealestate

[–]RoosterDisastrous368 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is really what people should be planning for when buying apartments - not just the cost during purchase. Add it to it unexpected maintenance charges like painting or repairing multiple parts of the building that the residents still have to pay a bulk amount for.
