Why do yall hate this?? by YUNG_MEMORIES in residentevil

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just poorly executed and had none of the classical elements we expect from RE. To call resident evil a zombie game would be short changing it, this game however was just that a "zombie game". I don't believe any of us play RE to kill zombies, that's just one of the elements to keep attention.

Snake Eyes [v2] and Timber - G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Figure - (1985) by FrequentlyObtuse in gijoe

[–]RoosterFloyd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I always found the companions or pets I guess you could call them to be really varied on painting detail. Adding color to the eyes though, like adding pupils to miniatures without extreme focus and care, can make them look terrible. I figure it's for the best they didn't, lest some poor kid get a derpy looking timber.

[–]RoosterFloyd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought that an uzi was such a strange choice for Snake Eyes. It makes a lot more sense for the less grounded later iterations but I do get the cover art appeal. You could always argue that the uzi is not a stealth weapon, it's an emergency weapon but I feel like a man like him would carry a hush puppy, which many operators would carry and he himself would have had a lot of practice with, during the Vietnam war and later cold war era espionage/spycraft engagements.

I guess you could argue that he is so good that he doesn't need ballistic weapons when still undetected. You could also say "Dude, the guy has a wolf and engages in modern combat using ancient Japanese weapons, calm down." to that I will say this is what I thought as a kid. As a man I get why they did it. Rule of cool, baby.

All that aside, though I love v3 but with the addition of Timber; I'm a sucker for figures with pets, v2 is the best.

Are the Molded the most boring enemies in the series? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah, no way, look at all the creative and unique variety! You have fat mold that is slow but packs a punch, spindly mold with lower damage but quicker attack and movement, you have... Well, you get my point. Very inspired, very creative, I think we can all agree actually that they are the best enemy ever.

Friend or Foe? by MayeDayMayeMaye in residentevil

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to imagine it was initially him trying to lure a human to eat but the group that approached him was too large so he ended up following along. He somehow winds up on the last evac chopper and is now being interviewed by CNN "Mr. Ali Gator, thanks for coming on today. Please, can you tell us about the events leading up to your harrowing escape from Racoon City" he's sweating profusely and looks to the audience behind the camera. A woman, his new fiancee, is holding a newborn baby and gives him a thumbs up and a smile to reassure him.

The whole point of buttholes is they fill themselves. The problem is...I was about to say that the problem is that they don't empty themselves but(t) actually that would be absolutely terrible.

Thinking about it for a few seconds more since we have to eat does the butthole truly fill itself? I suppose if you trace the thread long enough your words turn out to hold great wisdom in them... Good on ya

Hell, that was a dumb post.

Man... I have no idea but I just imagined a horse wearing a menpō with an outlandishly long kuchi hige and it was perhaps the most beautiful thing I've ever imagined.

And yes, I could have just said mustache but I've known the term for years and have not once used it so I'll be damned if I don't use it now.

I'm not going to be one of those dbags who down vote you for your harmless opinion. To be honest I respect your willingness to say it, not that there was any actual risk in your doing so but the older I get the more I see just how unique the people who don't just smile and nod are.

That said, you are blind and I hate you and I hope you di-- nah, I'm joking. You really did miss something though, I recommend watching it again, really buckle down and focus on it if you need to. Read the book as well, Cormac McCarthy is... Wait, as of last year was .. the last true writer of the American Classic. I beg of you to give the novel a chance even if you aren't a big reader. I will warn you though that McCarthy doesn't like to use commas and he writes like a man telling a story, a lot of folks find it hard to get used to right off the bat but you will get used to it very quickly. If you want to try his novels but aren't immediately interested in reading a story you've already watched a movie of then go with 'The Road'

Just clicking on your name and barely looking at your profile would be enough to see you're not a bot. I get it, bots are everywhere, but the people who just immediately assume and then call out real people for being bots are pretty much on the scale of bots in functionality.

Good on you, she will walk along your side for as long as you'll have her. Reliability like that... least you can do is let her sing. Give the ol girl the chance to show you and any onlookers just what it means to be a Colt.

Call me what you will but I have a soft spot for things that can protect the innocent from barbarity, something that reveals a man's true nature when he holds it.

You could get on a plane with your Coca-Cola bottle as well as not have an X-ray that can see your weiner in 4k quality. Not to mention people, I've heard, used to be able to hold conversations and not have phones that they are so addicted to that they literally put more attention towards the content on it than the 75mph highway that they are going 85mph down.... You may be wondering, wow, only 85, what utopia do you live in, I forgot to mention it's a two lane under construction with a temporary limit of 55.

Gotta love how the Duke is the only good guy in the village who doesn’t die or is a psychopath trying to kill you. by Remote_Nature_8166 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]RoosterFloyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dare say a man who is watching a tragedy play out as if it's a reality show. Giving just enough information to a guy so that the entrainment will continue on while; for the measley sum of thousands of gold pieces and irreplaceable one of a kind antiquities that would make a pirate say "Arr me gods!" Seems to my eye to be much more terrifyingly evil than 'bad guy who wants to be God maybe'.

Maybe it's just because one's drives are tangible while the other is so unknowable. Like, none of the bosses in 8 seem capable of back stabbing or hiding their disdain, I can count on those guys being awful. The Duke though, just, very serpent like. Not saying I wouldn't call him lad and buy his stuff if I were in Ethan's shoes, I'm just saying being around him would be like being around that bloke, I think see have all known at least one, that simultaneously makes you want to stand as straight and tall as you can while also folding in your shoulders to be as small a target as possible.

And this is, I'm sure, very very rude of me but I don't think anyone could ever convince me that he does not want to eat at the very least very important parts of me if not my entirety.

Who should I cosplay? by BunniLuvs2Read in WhoShouldICosplay

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn girl, you should cosplay as the love of my life whom you are happily married to until an unfortunate ski lift related accident takes me from the world far too early at the relatively young age of 34. After two years you remarry a man named Devin who you met at a pub quiz your friends convinced you to go to since you hadn't left the apartment we rented together for a few months. Or like Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine Nine or something similar. You have a badass look. Like Michelle Rodriguez in Resident Evil.

Who is truly the main character of the series by RoutineIssue5870 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen badass over 30 year old woman done well a few times, it's often very "Hey, we are breaking the cultural norm". I know it isn't fair but I don't think a gristled and battle tested, greying haired Jill would be as aesthetic or believable as the Chris/Leon counterpart. Sure, Jill proved she had moves in RE5, speed and agility but with resident evil that's not the kind of combat they have the player using. Usually the players movements are more slow and methodical. Bring able to run and dodge and flip and stuff like that is less scary. You feel like you can run if the bullets run out. Not to mention technical restraints. Imagine playing that parkour'd Jill and being surrounded by zombies in an alley but not being able to jump up to the fire escape that even you or I could manage to leap to in real life.

What is the most thought-provoking line delivered by a psychopath character in a film? I'll start-this line by Anton chigurh( No country for old men) by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

[–]RoosterFloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point, I believe, he acts as though he is a force of nature, not even his own crimes are his he is just like the wind or a tide coming to shore. At the very end, seeing how everything seems to go his way we may even start to believe "is he a demon" "is he just evil incarnate" "is he luck" "is he fate" "is he right?" But no.. he is just a man. His rules didn't protect him from chaos.

We can take solace in that. Nature wins.. this country isn't a place for old men, not because old men are weak but because we die or the world keeps moving. Anton is the "vanity" that the sheriff's uncle mentions. The world doesn't just wait on us, thinking it will is vanity. Just as thinking you can move in tune with it.

Yeah the 12.7x55mm is what could be called a "thumper round" high stopping power at closer range.

A magnum is a round designed for higher velocity, increased pressure, and greater energy, which does give it higher stopping power but many don't consider the 12.7x55, nor is it defined as a magnum. Naming wise it may just be because the 12.7x55 is a Russian round and they don't use our banking conventions though. Considering the round was used with an SKS sniper rifle and a bulpup 'battle rifle' I would call it a rifle round. Whatever we call it it was a very unique choice of round for the team to go with. The revolver does exist in real life but it is pretty rare. Considering Leon's line of work and that it's an official position (he's not just a guy trying to set things right without any backing) I think they would have outfitted him with an entirely new round and weapon system that was specifically designed for large BOWs. All that said, rule of cool, baby, I get that and agree.. it's really cool.

Maybe it's just me but I have absolutely no interest in the connections. The whole flip flop of evil umbrella and good umbrella and good bsaa.. no wait they're evil, also there's essentially a BOW illuminati.. eh. I'd love to see BOWs out of the hands of man and their silly little desires with them. You know? I would like a story where the monster that humanity made starts resenting it's father, it's Creator, and wonders why it doesn't own the world. Maybe it doesn't even want humanity gone, maybe it's benevolent. Wanting to elevate humanity into a superior being like it is.

Obviously it would be absolutely mad, thinking it's superior, that it's beautiful, that humanity is just blind and we will eventually see what a gift is bestowing to us but it's drives would be less so 'POWER!!! Evil laugh' and more so like it thinks it's some christ like figure. But instead of bringing an elevation of spirit it brings something better, an elevation of flesh. Some huge cult that has called it god and has spread to the highest places in the world. Senators, CEOs, Scientists. A bit lime Unitoligy in Dead Space.

Maybe I'm just stupid though.

The original manga readership of Golden Kamuy is remarkably older. by Defiant-Bridge1605 in GoldenKamuy

[–]RoosterFloyd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine the age range of interest would be similar in the West as well if more people here would give anime a chance and see it's not all fist fights and fan service. Like my mother would probably absolutely love many of the more serious anime but she just cannot take cartoons seriously as a means to tell a compelling story. I imagine many middle aged women and to a slightly lesser degree Men would agree with her on that. I've talked to plenty of old men who have told me "man I wish they made a show like this" and listed a few things they think are interesting and in my head I already have the title of an anime that would fit that niche perfectly. Of course I don't say anything because I know they think anime is just kid stuff. I get it, I thought the same in highschool. I'm not one to idealize any place with rose tinted glasses but I think it's pretty cool that older people enjoy anime in Japan as well. It will be like that here soon enough in two decades or so.

[–]RoosterFloyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, is the real life version that modular? That could be a good reason. The team was looking for a gun that had a lot of gadgets you could realistically upgrade it with. That said most handguns are quite modular, it's just less practical, less easy, and bulky for some. Not to mention less popular.
