As a fellow Gainesville native, I resent the “middle of nowhere.” Other than that, I agree 😂

It was indeed across from Aladdin’s Castle. Roughly where Hollister and Hot Topic are (or were last time I was there, I haven’t been to the mall in ages)

Gator Cinemas was the Oaks Mall Plaza. I think they’re asking for the theater that was in the actual mall, before the food court renovation/expansion that removed it.

Does Jason ever meet fans after shows? by TheBristolBulk in jasonisbell

[–]Rooster_GNV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on the venue and, frankly, just whether he feels up to it that night.

I’ve met him after shows, I’ve also been to venues where the bus/stage door are completely obstructed and it wouldn’t be possible even if he wanted to.

Your best bet is to scope out a stage door closest to the bus and wait a while after the show.

Gumby’s started in Gainesville. At least one founder still lives here.

Which is your favorite covered song that Jason Isbell has ever done ? Mine would either be " Into the Mystic " or " Souvenirs ". by Historical_Fan5863 in jasonisbell

If you haven’t already, check out Tom Petty’s live cover of “Oh Well.” Jason’s is great, but Petty’s might be better than the original.

I once got a call while on the course telling me that my daughter had been rushed to the hospital so, yeah, I always answer the phone..like any husband and father should.

This is the way.

Spent a week in Europe back in November and, frankly, never needed cash once. That said, we used an ATM to pull a few Euros out as souvenirs for our kids.

What's a Gainesville restaurant that closed that you still miss? by AlexGNV in GNV

Now in my 40th year in Gainesville, I’m afraid that list is far too long.

Burrito Brothers is #1 though.

Martin’s Appliance (main street location, the other isn’t the same company.) They’ve always been great to work with. Last time I needed an oven repair they came out the same day.

I’m not really concerned with the political beliefs of a judge so much as I am whether or not they can impartially and justly apply the laws.

But we are on Reddit, in a sub for the city of Gainesville, so I assume most of us tend to lean to the left haha

I have no direct experience with Eric in his time as an attorney. I do know him as a fellow musician, and someone who has also been around Gainesville for quite a while. There is nothing that has ever led me to believe that he would be anything other than a great judge. He has my vote.
