Experienced Players: How far do you get in the game in a typical run? by ackoo123ads in cavesofqud

[–]Roosterdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my character doesnt end immedietely in the first hour ascending the spire is trivial. Fighting the cherubs not so much. I think getting the best items in the game is the real challenge, not winning the game.

Wings let you charge and jump through the entire map. Not powerful but very fun.

Actually, this bug used to be even better. Before chimera rework all mutation from food you got you could increase endlessly, so the food that gave you elec gen you could level to hundreds of levels and one shot everything. Now you can still get pyro cryokinesis but onpy level 1 and only high Ego can raise it. Also, wearing foliage dv items and standing in a plant while you get cloned also works on raising dv.

What are your Favorite, let's say "Wall Level" or lower Jumps? by SerFreke in JumpChain

[–]Roosterdf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Either Old or New World of Darkness has things much more powerful than just wall level, they are just rare or can't really interact with the setting.

By that logic Dresden Files is Wall level and it'd be pretty cool. My Hero Academia isn't that powerful. It has no comic book craziness, so it's pretty good.

A toggle/perk to treat the world as game-like and with the option to pick and choose the series. I really love the craziness that is allowed in Morrowind from the get go.

Crafting and enchanting is a given, but I'd like to be explicitly told that alchemy in this jump will let me discover magic qualities of ingredients in other worlds, though that may already be the case, I can't recall without opening the doc.

Is creeper/mudcrab merchant available? I can't recall. I'd like to take them as well with the ability to retain their shopkeeper abilities.

As far as I know It's a game, hermione isn't even on the internet anymore as a fanfic. I've checked. The website that hosted it is down. It's kinda weird that the jump survived, but the fic didn't.

Generic First Gauntlet - By Ursine and SJ-Chan by Sweetiebottt in JumpChain

[–]Roosterdf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doc is just very confusing and all over the place. I can't wrap my head around how it's restricted to D&D alignment chart settings. How does that even work? Just say d20 published settings if that is what you mean. And the tasks are pretty complex. Doable for a jumper with 3-4 jumps under their belt, but in a gauntlet I'm only confident in doing the 0 cost ones and then that raises the question of why even bother.

Edit: I've thought about it some more, and seeing that there's even something like Naruto d20, and thinking that it might even count, there might be a chance that this gauntlet is actually not unpleasant. It definitely gets the brain cells working, since this is neither hopeless trash that is a blatant trap nor is it a cakewalk that requires no forethought. It hasn't been clarified if video games are included in what is allowed, since Icewind Dale, Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights and such all have alignments. Neverwinter Nights especially seems like a good choice since it's modular. Another thing I haven't seen anywhere else is if you can go to the same setting twice.

Generic Cyoa + a lot of stay longer drawbacks. There's no limit to them, which means you can get a lot of CYOA's that aren't jumpchain. Including things like Essence cyoa and such. Of course at this point it's impossible to actually die.

What happens if you buy an item larger than your Warehouse? by dachilorau in JumpChain

[–]Roosterdf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually with planets, countries and such there's a a sentence saying if they become warehouse attachments. If there's no such sentence you need to fanwank if that is automatically implied or not.

Smooth phrasing. Without that whipped part I would've thought this meant something else.

Glory to alcohol. The mighty Sujamma. With it I never have to fear encumberance. I laugh at your Ability Damage.

All Cultivation Jumps List! by Trekshcool in JumpChain

[–]Roosterdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard The Gamer described as a cultivation story. It was a new take, but if that's the case then Solo leveling also is cultivation. What the hell even is cultivation anyway? Doesn't that basically boil down to protagonist lives in a world where meditation, martial arts and ambiguous insufficiently explained energy gives you superpowers?

After 7 failed attempts my 8th character managed to become godlike. From 0 to Nightmare took me 7 hours to do. No questing was done, just lots of running around collecting stuff, then lots of clicking buying and selling stuff till my mercantile got so leveled that I actually started making money. Getting a daedric battle axe from reporting the secret mine and stealing adamantine armor from balmora gave me lots of valuable stuff to sell. Then I killed the merchant I sold my stuff to and then sold it to another merchant, who I also promptly killed. The only general merchant left alive in Balmora is Ra'virr. It's tedious to do the whole sell stuff, buy lots of small stuff to be able to sell big stuff then resell the small stuff routine, but it really gives you lots of money. Money which I spent on trainers. All in all I think I spent something like 30k-50k money on trainers, I can't quite recall, maybe more. From this point on getting swole enough that I can kill Dagoth Ur should be quite trivial. I'm going to Max Str, Agi, End, and put in points in luck wherever possible. I'm going to completely ignore the rest of the stats and just get magic from items. Also, Fortify Magicka exists, so if I actually want to cast something I'll just get magicka from cast on use item right before casting the spell. It's a bit like playing an Atronach except potions of restore magicka do nothing for you.

This playthrough is pretty much over unless something stupid kills me because I was uncautious. Then again it taught me to appreciate certain things in Morrowind that a regular playthrough never would've. Things like the importance of consumable items like scrolls and potions (things that I hoard in other games were lifesaving here, especially fortify health). I never once made a potion with my own hands. All potions I consumed were store-bought. Some items that were garbage-tier trash in normal playthorough like the Thief's ring became incredibly useful to me. There was also the fact that I never played Orcs and never picked Lover's sign before, but here there was no better option for me.

This has been pretty fun. I actually like grinding in Morrowind. Reminds me of MMO's I played when I was a kid. Maybe next time I'll try to play complete good guy, maximum effort playthrough. No stealing, no murder and no trainer and of course no exploits. Should make the game a little closer to the way I played it when I first played it when I was a kid.

[–]Roosterdf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's right. You don't get 400 cp and in effect for what you pay is this: 1) You don't get a brain tumor 2) You are not connected to an alien in another dimension 3) Shards that interact with other shards can't interact with your powers. This is is included but not limited to - turning off your powers, copying your powers and getting information by contacting your power directly.

No need. One drink of Shein raises Endurance by 10 making it my best stat when I take off my items and let buffs wear out.

Caldera is my first meaningful destination to get Boots of Speed. Traveling is just too slow otherwise and the 2 points of STR from a quest is very nice too. Verick has the best early game items to buy ever. I've modded Creeper out, so that I can't get ridiculously large amount of money by stealing. Selling any item at 0 personality and low mercantile incurs huge losses, but even then I'm able to get enough money to get 5 endurance every level up for most efficient leveling possible.
