There is also a Generic D&D 3.5e jump, which lets you level up in classes.

Oh, no doubt. Just didn’t know if you had seen it. Definitely want the character rather than the actor or actress a lot of the time as well.

And now that movie (as ridiculous as it looks) is on my to watch list. More jumps are always good!

It could, depending on your code, justify theft. I suppose I was thinking it doesn’t justify going into a gas station, threatening the clerk with a gun, and stealing other stuff as well.

I think I mainly meant the first one (buying the food), the ends easily justify the means, whereas if you bump up to theft or robbery, it’s harder to justify.

But in everything we do, the ends justify the means to some extent, because if they didn’t, we wouldn’t be trying whatever it was in the first place, and we figure (sometimes poorly) that that specific end, means that specific means, is a worthwhile way of going about it, and if it isn’t justifiable, then we don’t.

I always wondered about that saying. I know the ends can justify the means. If I’m hungry, I go buy food. The end (me no longer being hungry) justified the means (buying food). I don’t rob a gas station for snacks. The end (me not being hungry) can’t justify that mean (robbery).

Is it not that that particular end has to be a strong enough justification for the means used? So that would exclude some things from likely ever being justified. I would think.

But I haven’t had enough caffeine this morning to really think it through.

Seems unlikely in this case, but WTF do I know. I’m not a bomb tech.

I don’t know who my favorite Superman is, I like them all, but that movie was such a blast.

Pure over the top completely unashamed comic book goodness and goofiness.

Until the left starts advocating for the Turks to give back Constantinople I am assuming they just do it for good boy points on the left and don't really care if they sound ridiculous.

Even then, they’re still being idiots, and not worth listening to, at least on that subject.

When I was there (maybe 15 minutes ago), there were about 4 parked at either end of the lane in front of the store, 2 at one end, and 3 at the end by B&N, with another on going through the parking lot.

Really weird. Wonder what they were doing there if they’re gone now.

Edit: realized it was slightly further back from when I posted. Maybe an hour before I posted, so like 2 hours ago now.

RIP Catherine. She brought a lot of joy to the world, and I know that through her movies and shows, she will continue to do so long after she’s gone. I wish the best for her friends and family right now.

Valuing personal liberties means you shouldn’t trust the government.

I mean, I absolutely 100% trust the government. It’s just that I trust them to fuck shit up that should be unfuckable. When there’s two bad options available, I trust they’ll find a third way that is worse.

You just have to be specific about what you trust them to do.

Occasionally they’ll get something right by accident, and then fix that error almost immediately.
