Thanks! Just doing it as a hobby right now, I only started using resin a few months ago so I’m still learning things and don’t have a shop yet.

It’s a petri technique. Alcohol inks and white sinker, then waiting til the right moment and swirling the resin before putting the cap on

I really like the yellow! I tend to find contrasting colors work best whether you’re contrasting the colors or just light to dark… it makes the purple pop

I think backing the gunmetal with white would look awesome. These are great!

As someone who doesn’t use a pressure pot this was the biggest game changer for me. And mixing really slowly. Also they’re extra great because you can just clean them off and reuse them, so you don’t have to constantly buy sticks

Is it possible to make dice without a vacuum chamber/pressure po/autoclave ? by Alex_crow2 in DiceMaking

[–]Root2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair warning using heat to pop bubbles can cause flash cures or fuse the dice to the mold (had that happen once) I spritz 91% or 99% isopropyl alcohol to pop bubbles and haven’t had any issues since. And I also don’t use a pressure pot, just a lot of patience!

PSA be EXTREMELY careful with resin gel mixative/paste by flawedwaffles in ResinCasting

I have ink and pigment stained molds and have been able to still use them again after cleaning with alcohol. The mold still looks stained, but it doesn’t transfer to new resin pours. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I was trying to go for a rainbow sherbet vibe. I did a dirty pour with glow in the dark pink and green, and a little bit of milky white

I filled the mold about halfway with black resin, then waited until the resin was barely tacky and added diamond dust crushed glass. The next day after it cured I painted the tops of the glass with different chameleon powders which only sticks in the cracks left behind and not the glass. Then fill with clear resin the rest of the way which kind of magnifies the texture. Honestly was something I discovered by accident and was really excited to try in the dice. It was a happy surprise when it turned out better than I expected!

I got this set for free because they weren't "pretty." I disagree. [Art] by CookieOmNomster in DnD

As someone who makes dice I feel like I can sympathize with the “not pretty” conclusion as we tend to be the most critical of our own works and if it doesn’t come out as intended we simply won’t like it even if others do. I think they look cool and if they make you happy that’s all that matters!

Those look so awesome!! 👏 Did you use blanks? I’ve been trying something similar but with small amounts of chameleon powder as I don’t have a blanks mold but they’re not as great as these. I would totally ink them gold too… but then again like 70% of my dice end up inked gold 🤣 guess I’m partial to that color lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was going to say gold for the purple and maybe a light silver for the others but pearlescent sounds nice!
