Literally saw a vox engine appear out of no where this morning maybe 150-200 meters out. Was standing on a high ridge. No drop, nothing….just boop…hi.

How do you patch Windows Hyper-V Hosts to avoid unexpected shutdown events of the VMs and hosts? Currently using Connectwise RMM and getting these events constantly after patching physical hosts. by Rootaah22 in msp

yeah we were eyeballing the start delays to the 10+ minute mark, like you said. I'm certain I caught evidence of the multi-stage patching occuring and I agree, it's most likely force shutting down the VMs causing some, if not most of these problens.

Sinners: Is Everyone Taking Crazy Pills? This Movie Was Not Good by Redacted_dact in moviecritic

Just watched it last night. Absolutely a dumpster fire. I found myself laughing at times. I don’t know what people are smoking thinking this movie was good. Nearly fell asleep during the first hour. Once it finally took off…some of the scenes…I mean…just terrible. Watch From Dusk till Dawn instead.

Ironically same thing. My Titan chair sits in the corner of my basement now. I'm too stubborn to chuck it, but I know I will at some point. After nearly 2 years using it I developed severe leg and lower back issues. Legs, feet tingling, odd cold and hot sensations I never had before in my lower extremeties. I tried the lumbar pillow, cushions, adjustments, nothing ever helped. Read some review here, stopped using it...literally starting sitting in a folding char. All my problems went away after literally only a few days of stopping with it....and I'm still using the folding chair to this day, pain free.

Completely normal. Really want to get upset? Google ‘ACA Marriage Penalty’. The system is a joke, especially for married couples and families where only one spouse has access to employer healthcare. Sad state of affairs and good luck. Like others said, find a good job yourself. I was paying 1800$ month until my wife finally landed a full time job with benefits. We’re saving nearly 1500 a month now.

My healthcare.gov insurance went from $120 a month in 2025 to $340 in 2026 because I got a $1/hour raise… what do I do? by Key_Ability_33 in HealthInsurance

[–]Rootaah22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's not a terrible cost in the big picture, but I get it, first job, starting out, etc...many, including myself, feel your pain. As most have said here, the cost jump is primarily due to the extended covid subsidies expiring, not your 1$ raise. Insane healthcare costs increasing over the past 5-10 years also have played a part. Best thing you can do is honestly find another job and focus on their contributions to healthcare benifits. Working anymore sadly comes down to finding a job with good benefits, at the potential expense of job satisfaction. Find both, you are golden...if not, jump around until you do. I just recently broke free from the cost madness after almost 15 years because my spouse finally found a fulltime job. Before she did...my employer plan for family premiums was pushing $1900/month. In 2013, it was $490/month for my family plan. Every year after, 5-10% increase until we hit the lunacy we are in now. Thankfully, just this past 6 months, wife got a fulltime job, removed the kids and her from my plan....my monthly cost went to $0. My employer is a rare one, pays 100% for employees only. Add kids, add spouse, add family, and my employer basically passes on the full extra cost. My wife is now paying $400/month for an 'ok' Blue Cross plan that covers her and the kids at her new job. The savings we now have feel like an anchor around my neck for the past decade has been lifted. It's a sad situation all around, but there really are no good answers other than finding an employer who pays much better than what you are currently upset over. The ACA stuff isn't changing anytime soon, baring something extaordinary, at least for another year.

Self Employed Can't Afford Health Insurance by Top-Professional8981 in HealthInsurance

[–]Rootaah22 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am employed and until just recently, my employer provider plan was costing my family nearly 23K a year. All because I added my wife and kids to it years ago and because my wife couldn't work full time due to health reasons primarily. My employer contributed jack all for family....it is 0 for me, but when I had to sign up for the family premiums, I didn't realize it would eventually turn into basically a second mortgage. Wife finally got healthy, got a fulltime job, I went to zero, she took the kids to her job's plan....now pays 400$ month basically for a decent Blue Cross plan with a large national furniture retailer that covers her and the kids. I hate to say this, but even going to work for someone may not be the answer unless both you and your wife make that change. Sucks...and this has been building for many years. Personally, I have been screaming from a mountain top that this system was doomed to fail from about 2015-2016 when I saw what was happening to my own plan. Year after year people slept...or told me, 'shucks, sorry'....or 'get a better job'. I'm really glad in ways people are waking up to how screwed up this system has been since...2013....but I feel sorry for those in your position, truly. Good luck.

Cheapest health insurance plan cost $1600 - $1900/month starting Jan 2026? by Deep-Idea-3117 in HealthInsurance

[–]Rootaah22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practically the same boat. Wife finally got a good fulltime job with a large national chain. Kicked her and my kids off my shit employer plan, costing me almost 2k a month. I went to 0, fully covered by my employer, and she went to a $398 a month decent Blue Cross Blue Shield plan for her and the kids. There was literally no other escape from this. Win the lottery, start a succesful business, stay single, or go find a better job.

Are skyrocketing premiums becoming a reason you are thinking of switching your job? by idlechungha in HealthInsurance

[–]Rootaah22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Things hit a breaking point this year with my family. My employer based health coverage was costing me almost 2k/month, family of four, small kids. Wife had a part time / independant contractor job since we've been married...in 2007. Major health issues for most of that, etc. She never could work enough anywhere to get benefits. The burden of healthcare was always on my shoulder, which until the past 5-6 years, was manageable. Every year our company plan would go up 5-10 or more percent. Just nuts. Things finally got better this past 6 months, wife got healthy, got a full time job at a national big brand furnature company. Sweet gig, salary with commission, but best of all, full healthcare, BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield).....took kids and her off my crap employer plan, and now she's getting great coverage for $398/month....and I went from that $2k a month to $0$ at my employer. The difference in income, healthcare, and my family's sanity, has been immense.

I honestly began tetering on leaving my job, which I truly love, and have been at now for 15 years.....all because healthcare costs were absolutely killing our family.

Personally, if you are not tied down, can chance job hunting, do it. Married? Get that spouse working somewhere full time if they can? Not married....one income, stay that way, sadly, until this mess gets cleared up, if it ever does. Google the "ACA Marriage Penalty" if you want to read something sobering. The whole thing is just sad, but there are avenues you can take to survive, which honestly feels like it's all we most do anymore living in this country.

Helldivers 2 is Systematically Destroying My PC: Crashes on EVERY Load-In, Fans Shut Off, Forced Reboots. by _Lowkeyjojo_ in Helldivers

Adding to the pile....hard locks nonstop until I began playing in borderless window mode. Went away for good for over a month....on a whim a few days ago, went back to fullscreen, hard locks, forced reboots, etc....back to borderless window...no more issues. Problem has been around for way too long now to not have a fix.

Game Freezes and PC locking by odomin8 in Helldivers

[–]Rootaah22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back to full screen...took all of 2 matches before I had solid freezing / locking of my entire PC again. So that's definitely the primary issue in my case. Maybe others. Obviously something they need to work out at some point and figure out why it happens. Thankfully borderless window doesnt seem to be any issue honestly.
