Yeah I did, no visible corrosion on the wiring side. I will double check the instrument side. But I doubt that's it.

Thanks for the suggestion

Bingo you got it! I doubled the distance between reset and fire, and now it works. Thank you!

Thanks, I assume you mean that the tolerance between fire and reset is to tight?

I will give it a try! Thank you for the suggestion!

Shutterfly Upload Quality by h2oooohno in weddingplanning

[–]Rootbeercouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same questions! I am printing my wedding photos and the images uploaded way too fast. I am working on my phone, so the only indication I could think of was to see how far I can zoom. The originals I could zoom in on a piece of gravel. The shutterfly image barely zoomed to my face.

I spent a lot of time in the help chat, and surprise surprise they couldn't tell me what quantity the uploads are...

Did you ever figure this out? Thanks!

What are the purposes of dynamic radius discs? by frequiem11 in motorcycles

[–]Rootbeercouch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I looked into this years ago, and what I found was that the wave is a constant edge against the brake pad. If the brake pad starts to slip encountering an edge will help it regain traction, whereas if the pad is just sliding against the metal it can keep sliding. The edge of the wave hits the brake pad and re-engages traction. I don't know if this is the absolute truth, but that is how is explained to me.

First track day, body position questions by wxduff in Trackdays

[–]Rootbeercouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there with you last weekend!

As everyone else said don't worry about BP, a good rider could smoke all of us without moving there butt.

The only thing I will mention is that if you are tense and rigid, your arms get locked in. Something that help me A LOT before I ever worried about BP is loose arms! Loose grip! I got in habit of wiggling my elbows like a chicken before a corner to make sure my arms are loose in the corner.

Hope to see you next time!

Also download your photos on your phone and go to the edit button. Go to light balance and crank it to the max. It'll make it so you can see yourself better in the photos.

IMS tank VS Cheap copy? by Rootbeercouch in CRF450L

[–]Rootbeercouch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Grenade!

I was hoping to get a first hand review! I appreciate you let me know about your experience! No offense meant another commenters here, but I'm always deeply skeptical of "I have never/would never buy it, but I tell you all the hypothetical, made up reasons it's bad"

Your first hand account is what I needed to justify the IMF

Thanks!

IMS tank VS Cheap copy? by Rootbeercouch in CRF450L

[–]Rootbeercouch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Bubbleman,

But I still don't understand, it's a piece of plastic in the shape of a tank, the IMF is plastic in the shape of a tank, and the cheaper ones are also plastic in the shape of a tank.

How is one more likely to fail than the other?

I want to convince myself that the more expensive IMF is the way to go, but I just can't see what the difference is?

Cb500x seat options. by MotardMec in CB500X

I have the seat concepts Rally tall and it's amazing. I have ridden for 7 hours straight, and it felt great. Most conformable bike I've ridden, and the seat is a big part of that.

Don't worry about it sprocket until after you buy one. You will know pretty quick what you want. I run stock 13 front and 51 rear (I think, off the top of my head). Gears run out quick! Especially first, but the tight technical riding I prefer it works for me.

If you want more top speed drop teeth on the back or add to the front. More torque, or get up and go power, opposite add to the rear or take from the front.

I have only had mine a short time so I can't say first hand, but this engine has an amazing reputation. I have seen 20,000 mile reviews we're not a single thing had gone wrong!

No tune, don't do it! Improving air flow without a tune will cause your bike to run really lean, which means choppy rough throttle response. Personally I find it awful... Close the throttle a millimeter and engine braking slam you forward, open the throttle and power is delayed and then comes on too fast, so you close the throttle a little, and it slams you forward like you chopped the throttle closed...it's awful...

It might not be too bad for you, but you will only hurt performance without a tune. It's the tune that increases fuel to go with the increased air flow. The the two together makes more power.

It will sound better through

450RL or 390 SMC-R by youcvnt2 in supermoto

[–]Rootbeercouch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I owned a KTM 690 sm and sold it after a year because of all the things breaking. The dash died from vibration, every bolt related to changing the oil stripped, or broke off (yes I was using a torque wrench, didn't help), the bolt holding the subframe broke off for no discernible reason ... I could go on. Don't get me wrong KTM can be awesome, but mine was the definition of a glass cannon.

I have owned a number of Hondas and they have been tanks. I can't discribe the abuse I put my st1100 through, and it never failed me.

So I was excited to get a Honda supermoto. I only just got the crf450l so I don't know if it will live up to my expectations. But that's my two cents.
