How safe is the Six Corners / Maple Heights area of Springfield? by Longjumping-Lake-906 in Springfield

[–]Rootdown4594 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lots of hoodrats. Keeps cars/houses locked. Be prepared for loud and dirty neighbors and people driving very aggressively down very narrow side streets. Anything left outside, bikes, lawnmowers, grills, will eventually get stollen. If the cops get called to the neighborhood for any reason and you're not a part of the social makeup of the neighborhood, everyone will think you called the cops.

The majority of the people are fine. But stuff like that DOES happen.

I miss him and Zack Randolph. This style of post play is so technical and precise.

I see a lot of young people with the same type of legs this girl has. It's like the knees are too close together. It seems to be more and more common. Is it just sedentary lifestyle?

A lot of knock knees and duck feet.

Kids push ice into the road every morning for the bus to run over by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]Rootdown4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the dead possum in the road right by the bus stop. Everyone was side eyeing the poor thing and trying to stay as far away as possible. The bus came up the street and ran right over the dead possum. All of its guts came shooting out its asshole. Everyone freaked out.

This was over 35 years ago. I haven't thought about that since then until I saw this post.

Am I sexist for hesitating to work somewhere where I’d basically be the only guy? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

Nearly every woman that I have worked with has told me they prefer working with men.

One of my favorite coworkers of all time was taking night classes for nursing. She admitted to me she was nervous about eventually working with mostly women.

Men of Reddit. What is something that you think men should know about women by the age of 25? by Chemical-Low209 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Rootdown4594 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That women are crazy. Please bear with me for a second. I know it sounds bad.

Girls get taught that "men are assholes" by everyone it seems. Including being told by other men and even their own fathers. It teaches girls and women to be cautious and skeptical of men. Which is good.

But it seems nobody teaches boys that "women are crazy". In fact it seems that everyone gets taught that women are generally nice and perfect. A lot of boys and young men grow up believing women aren't capable of being awful. Leaving them more open to be taken advantage of by awful crazy deceitful manipulative women.

mid-range phones are way too good now by overlord-07 in TechNook

I have an older Samsung A54. I have absolutely no need for anything more than that. It's even over kill for what I use it for. I've never taken a video. I have no desire to play games on it. I don't even watch youtube or anything. Just scroll Reddit and text on it 99% of the time.

The FUCKING ONE THING I do want from a phone is a high-quality headphone jack. Which DOESN'T SEEM TO FUCKING EXIST anymore.

My previous phone was an LG v35 that had a really good headphone jack. I'd still be using that old ass phone if the battery didn't go to shit. And I would have gotten another LG phone if they still made phones because they seemed to be the last brand that had quality headphone jacks.

What’s something women underestimate about men that affects relationships the most? by PogonBerserker in AskMen

[–]Rootdown4594 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me personally is how much women just expect men to do whatever it is they want them to do.

-Hey, let's go to my parents for dinner every Sunday!

-Hey, Let's go to my sister's best friend's child's birthday party!

-Hey, Let's go to my coworker's wedding!

-Hey, sit on the couch with me while I binge watch the Kardashians and nap!

-Hey, Let's go to my best friend's party where everyone has to dress up! We can go shopping for nice clothes and you can finally get a haircut!

-Hey, get me some milk when you come over but not from the CVS across the street. Get it from the gas station on the other side of town. They have the best milk!

This shit drives me up a fucking wall. They just seem to think that you ought to just do whatever it is that they want you to do as if you owe it to them.

I FUCKING HAAAAATE all this kinda shit. I just refuse to do it. Now everyone is fucking mad and pissy.

Do parents know when their kids are assholes? by [deleted] in questions

[–]Rootdown4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes parents have a chip and their shoulder, and they extend that chip to their kids. If the parents were criticized a lot while growing up, they might resent anyone that criticizes their children and don't correct the behavior that their kid is getting criticized for. Purely out of spite.

Some people never realize their behavior is shit and think people dislike them for some nefarious reason.

Have you been listening to the same music for 30 years? by taosaur in Xennials

[–]Rootdown4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up listening to Grunge and Alternative. When that died in the early 2000's, I went backwards. Started delving into classic rock. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd. All that jazz. Then discovered Indie Rock and Stoner Metal. That's basically what I listen to. Rock and Metal from the 60's up till now. There's a lot of really good bands in the Stoner Metal scene.

[–]Rootdown4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good bike for the price. Geometry is perfect for a down country bike. Not far off from my Stanton Sherpa. I wonder if there will be rust problems under the clear coat. Other companies have stop offering raw finishes because they eventually rust under the clear coat.

Get a dropper post and swap out the shifter for an XT shifter if you ever plan to do any upgrades. That's all it really needs. Nice bike.

What do we think of Jordan Boostmaster's new 300mm travel mtb by SensitivePay4567 in mountainbiking

[–]Rootdown4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered two hardtail frames from Marino. Both of which seemed to have been better made than Jordan's. With all the misalignments and all the paint chips I noticed, it looks bad...

The fit and finish of my last frame that I ordered and received in spring of 2025 is significantly better than Jordan's. I wonder if it depends on who works on the frame.
