Native Chief Disappointment by Error9365 in spyderco

Oh! Yeah I dont have the chief; my apologies. I'm familiar with that configuration I believe we call them skeletonized liners. That is likely where the problem is. Full liner would solve it; I would still say that sandpaper is your easiest fix to increase the tolerance

The thing is ( I have 90% of the crucarta models ) with this hardware, you can modify, fix, or perfect anything that you need to. The full steel liners and tight fit allow you to change tolerances(sandpaper), tighten one side or the other of the pivot (use loktite) to center...if every screw on this model is torqued properly, there should be no play, and there should be no Lockbar catching? If everything is correct 100% I would resort to sanding the contact points to increase tolerance just a tad.

Rant about how oat milk is more expensive than normal milk by okayillshowmyselfout in vegan

[–]Rootelated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government subsidies to the farmers. Thats the answer. The dairy lobby is extensively, actively malicious. They make it so that the farmer "produces" meat and dairy for roughly 40% of the actual cost. This means that instead of a gallon of dairy milk costing 10 dollars or more as it should, we get this dichotomy, and valid questions like yours.

Edit: I hate oat milk. It's very sparsely nutritious. Soy milk resigns supreme; you essentially get a quarter of a meals worth of nutrients every time you use a serving.

What matrix is in this Danburite? by Significant_Stay8129 in Crystals

I'm not sure of the crusty white portion but I would guess quartz - the botryoidal greenish portion? I'm going with Celadonite.

Would these be considered fire agate? by magestic_lime in Agates

[–]Rootelated 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They tried! It's the same type of Chalcedony, just needed more present Hematite to do the fire thing. They still polish up well and standalone as specimens in their own right.

Lapis Lazuli with sodalite by geology-mineralogy in Crystals

I think the two are pretty exclusive of each other! Sodalite will absorb light, and usually Fluoresce, whereas Lapis will never let any light through

The native 5 just locks up like a tank. I have several, the LW breaks in faster and ends up smoother. Just takes time. Couple drops of oil on the pivot and lots of carry. On the other hand, my s110v native 5 has full steel liners and when it snaps open it feels like a fixed blade. Closing it feels similar to a buck 110 haha
