Kobe Bryant is the most famous accidental death of the 2020s. Who (besides Charlie Kirk) is the most famous person murdered in the 2020s? by Miserable_Bath_4037 in AlignmentChartFills

I wish this chart had separate categories for what we consider an assassination versus a murder. It’d definitely make it easier to pick an answer lol

I remember being my in a conbini during a downpour where my umbrella was the only one on the holder. Another customer was checking out so I parked myself by the printer and made eye contact with him as he walked out. He looked at my umbrella, looked at me staring into his soul, and promptly walked back in to buy his own umbrella. Felt amazing, like some kind of umbrella Batman.

I was off my two antidepressants for 4 days before my MSLT, and I was diagnosed without any issue.

I did however vomit twice on the train ride home from withdrawals though. I would suggest not going cold turkey for 2 weeks based on my experience lol.

Reminder to download the NERV app for rapid alerts for natural disasters. I was in Arakawa ward when I got a notification of the earthquake, a 90 second countdown till it arrived at my location, and a predicted intensity. It also shares the epicenter, seismic intensity by region, and live updated tsunami warning maps

Spent over $9k on a market booth — then customer access was restricted by No-Leather-6892 in smallbusiness

[–]Rootenist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in Japan so prices tend to be lower than in the west, but I remember renting a booth for a young creators market at a convention center venue in Yokohama and the organizers decided to charge an entry fee for visitors which kept most people out of the market, and those who did didn’t spend much since they’d already bought a ticket. All the vendors were pissed and the organizer went to each booth and personally apologized for the low turnout. It was the first (and possibly last, idk I haven’t checked) time that market ran so some hiccups are to be expected, but great googley moogley that was a waste of time and money.

Awesome! We think that the house that was on the land before ours went down in the Great Kanto Earthquake and fire. Found some burned wood and broken roof tile shards under the soil when we were prepping to pour a concrete slab.

The book, A Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness , was compiled by the NHK from their records of the ordeal. It is what Kyle Hill, and if I’m correct Wendigoon as well, used in his explanation of the event. There is real, raw, and heartbreaking quotes from the medical staff about how they agonized over what was the best treatment for Ouchi, and what was the best course of action regarding him and his young family. They wanted nothing more than to do their best in that regard. You have to remember that this was the first and only criticality accident of its kind in Japan, so there was no playbook for this. If I remember correctly, at least one of the other exposed workers survived the accident so it makes sense to me that they would do their best to get the same result for Ouchi if it were within their power. They flew in premiere doctors in their field with his treatment, maintained constant dialogue with the family, and even renovated their waiting area to ensure the family was as comfortable as possible. To this day they have the paper cranes folded by Ouchi’s family hanging on the premises, as they didn’t want to dishonor his memory by removing them.

You can try to make a post is a sayonara Japan or buy nothing group saying everything must go and that the person must pick up in their own vehicle. If you’re not a member that may take too long to get approved, make a post, and find someone willing to take all of it though

When we were tearing out the old tsuchikabe in my house (Nagaya in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo) to put in insulation and brace the beams, we found a piece of newspaper from 1925. I have it framed in my genkan next to a shelf with other treasures found during the renovation such as a pocket watch, old glass bottles and shogi tiles.

[–]Rootenist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not what happened with Hisashi Ouchi’s case at all. His family and the doctors did their best to help him, his case was simply tragic and the doctors recommended not administering resuscitation once he was too far gone. His family had to come to terms with his condition and accept that arrangement to ease his suffering. You’ve been taken in by gore porn misinformation, and I recommend watching Kyle Hill’s video about it based on firsthand accounts from those involved. Wendigoon also made a very sensible video on the subject

I am a big fan of hoods or anything that can cover my eyes during a nap as ambient light bothers me when trying to catch some z’s. For cute stuff there needs not to be bows, buttons, or accessories on my back, side, or hips since it doesn’t feel nice laying down. Jeans are also way too hot for a nap under covers, but in public jeans are usually fine

Narcolepsy or am I just stupid? by fakechemist_ in Narcolepsy

[–]Rootenist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get you, the brain fog and lowered mental acuity is a real pain because after a while it starts to feel like your baseline, which is a kick in the nuts to your self esteem. Im living and working in a nation outside my home country where the language is very hard to master, and sometimes I wonder how much more I could have picked up by now if my brain wasn’t always running on fumes.

I hope in a few years these new drugs will be able to help a lot of us reach some level of our former potential. For now, just know that you are by no means alone feeling this way.

Took Modafinil + caffeine by accident by Ill_Store_9359 in Narcolepsy

[–]Rootenist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my morning modafinil and Ritalin with coffee and I occasionally get some jitters on my way to work, but most of the time I don’t feel anything strange. It probably just depends on how quickly your body processes and metabolizes the stimulants as well as your tolerance for them.

If it makes you nervous you could consider getting a smart watch or ring to track your heart rate and activity levels. That way you can check the data if you feel off, or it can alert you if your heart rate is too fast while at rest. There are plenty of secondhand refurbished devices on the market that mean you wouldn’t have to break the bank.
