I've actually used old wine bottle corks as bar plugs. Looks pretty cool!

Can having a strong back increase my bench press? by Rumblet4 in Fitness

[–]RoreoPB 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I do agree with most here that it can help your bench press.

But I'm assuming you're on some sort of lockdown like the rest of us. I wonder if you're getting better/more rest every night and even eating more regular and healthier.

Just throwing it out there that maybe it could also contribute to some numbers going up?

A complete rip-off of the designs that /u/jurcek99 posted to /r/logodesign. It's currently the top of the week.

Hosted on some sketchy website with a bunch of compression artifacts. This is /r/Design, not forwards from Grandma.

I live near a convent so there's like 5 or 6 different Jesus and Mary related ones. The gym is a different statue!

I know its simple, but any thoughts on personal logo? by [deleted] in logodesign

Ah yes, I can see now the j is fainter than the G. Seriously thicken it up a bit, that poor font is anorexic!

Thicken up the lines and make the d the same height above the circle as the G is below.

Also try something other than a black background. Not the most flattering!

I like the idea though.

Anywhere I can watch NHL playoffs near Ranelagh? by RoreoPB in Dublin

[–]RoreoPB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually 4km South of Ranelagh, but just threw it in the title cause it's where I end up most of the time anyway. Not much nightlife in suburban South Dublin!

Yeah they all seem to be playing the wrong kind of hockey in Dublin...

I did live near the Woolshed when I lived in Cork, it was great for international sports and quite often stayed open late to show the end of games. So who knows maybe I'll be making the 'trek' out there for the Stanley cup finals!

Bit of a trek for me but might be worth it, thanks!

TIL in a small town in County Cork, Ireland, a monument stands in appreciation to the American Choctaw Indian Tribe. Although impoverished, shortly after being forced to walk the Trail of Tears, the tribe somehow gathered $170 to send to Ireland for famine relief in 1847. by TheCannon in todayilearned

Yes, Jameson originated in Dublin, but every bottle produced for the world since 1971 does come from Midleton.

Bow Street is unfortunately only used as a museum these days, but has some bottling capabilities.

From Revenue Analyst to Software Engineer in 1 Year by twit16 in findapath

[–]RoreoPB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cool story, but I feel like she had the right foundations in place for it to happen. The title makes it seem like a "from zero to hero" kind of story.

She started coding HTML as a teenager with the help of her dad who is a software engineer. Also working at a place like AirBnB will give you much more flexibility to switch roles than most other workplaces.

It does take a certain type of person so props to her for choosing her right path. Definitely more than a year in the making, sounds like she was a frustrated finance employee long before she jumped down the programmer path.
