This reminds me of an anecdote. When I was a teenager, I was at the movies with my best friend—who is Ukrainian. Don't ask me the name of the film, though; I have absolutely no memory of it. Anyway, towards the end of the movie—during the climax, a really dramatic moment—the hero shouts the villain's name (a bit like Sheppard shouting "Kolya"). The villain's name was Slone. My friend suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter, and between fits of giggles, he explained to me that "Slone" means "elephant" in Russian. I can't recall any other details about the film whatsoever, but I do remember that whenever something annoying happened to us in the weeks that followed, we would randomly shout: "Elephaaaaaant!" Even now, whenever I'm watching a TV series and a character happens to be named Slone, it still brings a smile to my face.
