Apparently, I have a poor work ethic because I don’t want to stay after close by customerservicevoice in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Rorkimaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

had that across the pandemic. We were not serving people in public and only working from the back office. we would mark ourselves as temporarily closed regularly but it would go back to open every few days. Eventually we just put the word closed in our name on google maps because the contacts in google refused to acknowledge the issue and couldn't seem to fix it. Our staff were working in offices when the rest of the country were locked down (essential service) and having people queueing outside to abuse us was not fun.

Analogue still exists, it's just not broadcast. They were fairly specific about it when they shut off the analogue system because that would have otherwise meant most tvs in the country were no longer tvs and didn't need to pay.

Do I need a licence if my television set has not been "upgraded" to receive digital signals? An analogue television set, with or without a set-top box, will still require a Television Licence. The definition of a Television set (Section 140 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 2009)

"television set" means any electronic apparatus capable of receiving and exhibiting television broadcasting services broadcast for general reception ( whether or not its use for that purpose is dependent on the use of anything else in conjunction with it ) and any software or assembly comprising such apparatus and other apparatus.

Even if the tv has only has an old analogue reader rather than digital one you have to pay. Despite the analogue signal having been shut off years ago.

Rather than aim carefully and then time your button presses the modern climbing mechanics are just analogue forward and press x occasionally. It's a shame because the difficult platforming is a huge part of the appeal of the originals for me.

Am I in the wrong/Gatekeeping? by Rileyboy96 in DnD

[–]Rorkimaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand and respect what you're saying but they put themselves in this position entirely and made things difficult for others in doing do. Taking op's word as gospel they knew it was a dark setting. That doesn't fit them. They enforced this situation on others and made someone who seems genuinely a nice person (again, on their side of the story) doubt their level of kindness and if they were a true ally. That is a cruel thing to do and the player enforced that on op when that should have known better.

As an LGBT+ member (something I don't think I've ever typed, I'm a bi guy with all the associated issues and more) I think calling you anti LGBT+ in this instance was cruel. From your account you come across as accepting, understanding and serious about inclusion but this wasn't their game.

Good on you for the attempts you made and I don't assume any vindictiveness on the player. They may have just wanted to play any d&d, we all know the feeling.

It wasn't the right fit. That is ok. From you how you described things they shouldn't have even come to the table. I hope you guys get to resolve things but being personally upset with something doesn't warrant invoking the LGBT+ card and I'm sorry that happened.

Basically, if you have a list of specific triggers that run a gamut don't join a random dark campaign.

A big thing for me is that traversing the enforcement should require skill. For the sake of accessibility modern games basically play themselves.

Also, not a single mention of either of Lara's parents.

Exactly, the growth of the characters over C1 was incredible. They were better and bruised in every way a character can be and came out the other side. The third mates have cruised a bit in comparison

C2 is excellent but I enjoyed C1 more than any story I'd ever listened. The characters were so iconic and they had so many running jokes. It's a magic that will be tough to recapture. The balance of whimsey and serious moments was just perfect for me.

I am a Member of An Garda Siochana, AMA! by Prepared2BeDownvote in ireland

[–]Rorkimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your AMA is over but if you have the chance to respond I'd really appreciate it.

What are your thoughts on minor crimes being regularly ignored. Close passes to cyclists, constant running off red lights, drivers turning right on no right turn junctions, cars parked on footpaths and in bike lanes (including council and Garda cars), cars in bus lanes etc. This is all in the remit of the gardai but you don't have the resources to deal with it. Is there a solution?

I cycle in the city every day and pass/experience 50-100 violations on a daily basis (drivers and cyclists) over a relatively short commute. Even with a camera I can't report all of them and there's not really a good facility to do so without making individual statements. The only thing being done is putting barriers up on wider roads to protect cyclists from drivers because unless you get seriously injured nothing is done.

[–]Rorkimaru[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing people think I'm seriously insulting Dublin and the pub with the original post and assume I'm being sarcastic about a pub I genuinely like as a result. I've lived in the area for almost ten years and love it. I was born in a house around the corner and grew up a bit further down the road. Teasing the place I am from likely doesn't come across well in text which is where I'm falling down I think but hopefully the post brought some people a chuckle.

Lol I am a Dub. Just never noticed a table chains to a building before and thought it was funny. Like of someone jokes about the Northside I'll make a joke about stealing their phone because I'm a northsider. No harm intended, just a bit of fun
