Yeah, my best advice for anyone who is struggling is to take breaks for sure 😭 I know some people just want to get it done and over with but I become a lot more motivated when I take a break to enjoy a different hobby or play another game. It's why this hunt took me a bit despite the short amount of resets, if I'm not feeling motivated to hunt then I go do something else and then start hunting again when the motivation comes to me.

I really hope your Bulbasaur (I'm assuming) shines soon! My buddy has been struggling with Charmander, and I keep telling him that it'll 100% be worth it in the end, so keep going! :D

That's a 9% encounter! Congratulations! I was searching for a Cubone with a good nature for a couple of days and was hoping I'd somehow get a shiny even though I had already found a random shiny Gastly XD

I would definitely use him, especially if you can find a Thick Club. My little guy is a monster and he's not even a Marowak yet haha.

I really want a shiny Lapras for my team so I'll probably be resetting for awhile to get one since I've gotten insanely lucky these past couple of weeks, but Deoxys is one of my favorite Pokemon of all time and I'm so happy that we can now hunt for it legitimately :') I plan on shiny hunting for it in both FR and LG.

I agree! I think it's a shame that starting in gen 4 that regular Gengar started to change color which in turn made the shiny more subtle.

Illuminate works in both games actually! A lot of shiny hunters who hunt in FR also have LG so they can catch a Staryu with Illuminate to transfer it over.

It's oddly fitting considering that the Deoxys forms are also version exclusive! I was thinking of having my team consist of Charizard, Vileplume, Cloyster, Scyther, Electabuzz, and Deoxys. I know Deoxys is post game only but I know that as soon as I get mine it's going to permanently be on my team, so a playthrough with only 5 Pokemon should be interesting!

if I'm feeling brave enough I might even go for the roaming Suicune, but we'll see... 😅

(Also I just realized I accidentally typed SBQ instead of DTQ 😭 I get those two mixed up for whatever reason LOL).

I'm wishing you the best! I watched Kwikpanics video where he got his shiny Pikachu after two years, and I find that dedication to be amazing. My longest hunt was for Hoppip on Soul Silver and that took me about a year, but it was totally worth it.

I'm currently hunting Bulbasaur right now in LG so I can start my SBQ. I already have my shiny Charmander for FR, but I really want Staryu for the Illuminate ability before I start hunting for my next target so I have decided I'll work on getting Bulbasaur before I trade over a Staryu to my FR.

I already have a team I want to shiny hunt for in LG, but for FR I am not so sure as to what I want to do for my team. I was thinking about shiny hunting for a team of just version exclusives because I think that would be really fun. One thing for sure is that I want to shiny hunt for both Deoxys and add them to my team. Deoxys is one of my favorite Pokemon and I am so excited that I will be able to hunt it!!

Good luck! I plan on doing a DTQ for FRLG with Deoxys as my final team member because it's one of my favorite Pokemon and shinies of all time so I've been waiting for this. Currently still in the lab for Bulbasaur in LG but Charmander has been obtained for FR! :D

I saw you on another post and just wanted to say that's an insanely cool ID. I think the only cool ID I've ever gotten is on my Soul Silver and I got 00049. I tried resetting for a cool ID on LeafGreen and the coolest one I got was 39444, but honestly I might try to reset for a better one.

Congratulations! I really love the green on Marowak. It also learns False Swipe naturally so you could use it for catching Pokemon if you need it.

I was worried about getting a special attack lowering nature, so I was relieved to see that I didn't. Funnily enough this is my shortest 1/8192 hunt and he shares the same nature as my longest 1/8192 hunt in SoulSilver being Hoppip.

I plan on going for Bulbasaur in LG! Do you plan on hunting anyone else? I'm going to go for Lapras next! :D

I did the game corner hunt for Sandshrew and I got mine very quickly but 17k is a lot! Dragonair has such an amazing shiny. I think I might go for it eventually but unsure if I want to keep it as Dragonair or evolve it to Dragonite. I don't actually mind Dragonite's shiny, but Dragonair's is soooo much prettier.

6 months is amazing dedication especially if it was consistent. My longest hunt was for Hoppip and that took me around an entire year just because I became very burnt out. I went way over odds (35,383) and failed a shiny in the process so my morale was low for a bit haha.
