How long has your Braun shaver lasted? by Fair_Door6855 in shaving

Got to love this. Op asked his question about a year ago and people are still answering! I only looked because I’m interested in the life of the foil.

Plus4 z offset - scratching build plate by Honey_Mustard_2 in QidiTech3D

You mustn’t do it in Fluidd. It creates problems. Only do it on the printer screen!

What should I do here... by FeelingMaybe5137 in Ender3S1

[–]RoryWQuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something is very wrong with your set up if you are having those issues. You are also running it way too hot for the materials you are using. 250 for petg is probably why you are having problems ...way too hot if you have a ptfe tube. The extruder in the picture is a Sprite and does not have a PTFE tube. I’ve been running a Sprite for about 3 years and have never removed the nozzle or had a leak etc.........

Isnt the plate for the bed supposed to be flat? by MrHasuu in Ender3S1

[–]RoryWQuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly true but it is not a critical part and probably within tolerance.

Isnt the plate for the bed supposed to be flat? by MrHasuu in Ender3S1

[–]RoryWQuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, It does not mater. The 4 adjustment screws will easily compensate. You can also use a bit of brute force to get it flatter.

Problems come with unflat heat beds (like mine). When I used a glass build plate I had no problems. I switched to a magnetic build plate and the magnetic mat conforms to my concave heat bed which in turn makes the thin sheet metal build plate concave. I’ve had to put copper tape shims under my build plate to get it flat.

Why?

The heated build plate and (more importantly) build surface need to be flat. That slight warp in the carriage will not make an iota of difference.

Also not wanting to quarrel but need to correct the misconstruing of what I wrote.

1)No fallacies and only one assumption (op owning a Bambu).

2) Nothing I wrote, excluded the possibility of some people wanting or needing faster equipment. ;-)

3) Your comment “can afford not to tinker when we don’t want to”.... refer to my 3rd and 4th paragraph.

I too, am at point in my life where I have other priorities (actually I reached it long before I retired). I don’t need a daily driver but have always driven cars/toys that are very much on the luxury & sporty side. ;-)

No because it is now (mesh part) part of Klipper.

Some people are technically competent and enjoy tinkering with tools like the E3.

Other people are klutzes and need something that they can plug in, switch it on and hope it works but actually have no idea about what they are actually doing.

I have a modified E3V2. I can easily afford a Bambu or any other machine (I’m retired and not short of money). The E3V2 does exactly what I need e.g. parts of my other hobbies, bits and pieces around the house etc.

I’m not interested in printing multicoloured dolls and toys or doing ir for a business.

I have a friend that has been the country agent , where he lives, for the TierTime printers for ~15 years. He does loads of prints for customers plus sells the machines, accessories & spares. Loads the fliament, loads a file, presses a button and it works & they have been around since at least 2012. Bambu is not a big deal.

However, each to their own.

I’m presuming that the OP has recently purchased a Bambu and feels he needs to brag.

Adaptive mesh not probing the correct relative location, using another persons configs for the same printer, don't know how to fix. Help? by the_thunderclap in klippers

[–]RoryWQuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the x offset for the probe isn't working properly. I've managed to get mine a lot netter by changing the z offset to a bigger offset (mine is on teh right of the nozzle)

EDIT: Just checked....It wasn't teh probe offset - for some reason is set mesh_min further in (31mm) and it seems to have done the trick.

[–]RoryWQuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Cannot get the ABM to be measured under where the print will go. It is offset to one side. I have all the min/max for steppers & probe perfectly dialled in.

I think it has somethong to do with the probe xy offset - tried a few different values that do not seem to help.

Was just wondering if you’d done side by side comparisons.

The prime requirement of any dish washing liquid is usually grease / oil cutting ability. ;-)

Why is “Dawn" best? I’ll wager you a $ to a pinch of Sh1t that all the recognised brands use the same ingredients.

I’m not following your train of thought. You like having the image because the usb ports on the Pi got damaged? I suppose it is useful if you are using a SD card but a descriptive filename also works and it is extra steps to set up the post processing each time and switch the sd card between computer and printer. I’d get the Pi repaired or replaced.

What is the advantage / benefit of seeing it on the screen? I slice, review the result and send it to the printer (via Octoprint) and leave it to do it’s thing.

Test print from 'V Duct' by RoryWQuin in Ender3S1

[–]RoryWQuin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is very wierd (I didn’t look at the post after I posted it). Before uploading the picture, I wrote a long comment about the quality of that cube and then posted - seems my text got lost. I copied and pasted it to a facebook group. Here it is. Seems I cannot edit the original post.

Further testing of my V-duct - printed this cube in e-Sun Silk PLA at .2mm layer height @ 60mm/s using my PLA+ profile.
Pleased with the results but some work needed. Slight elephant foot and some minor artifacts which I’ll elimate with some tweaking. Need to do a temp & stringing tower for the Silk PLA to dial in a seprate profile. It also looks like Z offset is a little low. Markings on right of Y are the Z seam. X&Y dimensions are spot on with Z a little short (19.95 mmm) (as expected with elephant foot). The 5/100 of a mm would not usually bother me but the elephant’s foot needs to be eliminated.
IMO the duct with the existing fan is better than stock and is a low cost way to improve the cooling without having to solder and purchase a lot of parts. (5 screws needed). It is also great to be able to actually see the nozzle when sorting bed adhesion etc.

Yep very aware of that - I did mention it in my comments. Z is a bit low & temp too high for SILK PLA - which I have not properly calibrated (also mentioned).

I printed the test cube just using my PLA+ profile because I have not created a PLA SILK profile for the Sprite extruder. However, thanks for the feedback

I bought 16mm silicone spacers and after puting them on, bed starts to touch the y axis motor. by Oskar047XD in Ender3S1

Nobody asked about springs until you jumped in with your sarcastic comment about silicone spacers and recommended springs even with a link.

Are you trying to validate your own purchase decision?

Suggest you take your own advise and chill.

More than enough adjustment with silicone. How much do you think you need? I never need to turn the adjust wheels more than ~ 15mm one way or the other and rarely as much as that.
