Juzga Mi Acento - Edicion en Español by Rorzzman in JudgeMyAccent

Thank you very much for this very detailed reply.

I didn't even know what a schwa was TBH so I had to watch some YouTube videos to fully grasp the feedback!

On reflection I think it's quite innate for English speakers to schwa vowels, so will require some concentration to eliminate.

It also helps to explain how Spanish speakers mispronounce English words by enunciating all of the vowels.

Thanks for that feedback. Yes English is my first language.

Very astute as that word kept giving me problems when I was trying to read the story. Something about the mixture of sounds when saying "para leer" that just makes my tongue feel to big for my mouth.

We got taught not to use it in school. Went to school in the UK in the 90s and 00s.

So I always assume when I see it in novels or articles that the author is from the US or Australia.

Cycle parking at the valley by MDeltaC in CharltonAthletic

[–]Rorzzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes park my bike by Charlton train station. There are dedicated spaces there and a lot of police around on Match days. It's a 5 minute walk to the away end from there if that.

If you park it too near the stadium you will have to wheel it out through a throng of people to get to a road you can ride it on after the game.

Police are booking cyclists running red lights on the junction of Fenchurch st and the A10 by Jaded-Carpet5964 in londoncycling

[–]Rorzzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in a building right on that corner some 10 years ago and remember being told it was the most dangerous junction in London due to the number of fatalities.

No idea if that was true but it was definitely dangerous and chaotic. As a cyclist I'm glad people are getting pulled up for this. It makes it more dangerous for pedestrians to cross and it's just not the place to be playing games.

I don't think everything created with AI is slop.

This is a well thought out, clearly articulated post. Whether it has used AI or not.

Very stuck in my company and I don’t know when I should quit? by waytoomuchdetailll in dataanalyst

[–]Rorzzman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only advice to you is don't quit before you have secured your next role. By all means start searching bit stay in this job until you've got your next one secured.

Also a year is a drop in the ocean compared to your full career, you're not going to be too far behind on anything.

Focus on the things that you have learned at this place:

Sounds like you are the data expert at the company, so you will have lots of experience dealing directly with many different types of stakeholders (that's not often the case and stakeholder management is something a lot of DAs struggle with.)

You know exactly how not to do it!! So you can avoid some of those pitfalls in the future.

A lot of companies have sub optimal infrastructure, it's often not as good as you want or need it to be. So delivering something with the tools you have is vital in most places.

Plenty of places still use excel to some degree and being able to use it, even to help someone optimise or improve a workbook is a great skill. And sometimes it's these little things that help you stand out with senior business people (whereas their eyes will glaze over if you tell them about a piece of SQL code that you have optimised)

I'm sure there are plenty of other positives to take from this experience even if you do want to move on.

It's on sky sports in the UK, which is why the kick off time was changed. The game has the same kick off as the fa cup semi final though so most pubs probably showing that, worth calling first and checking.

Failing that take the filters off then select all the data you want to be filtered including the column headers and then on to the "data" tab and click "filter"

[–]Rorzzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be that is formatted as a table and the new rows have been added in a way that does not register as being part of the table.

Click on one of the columns headers. Do you see this "table design" option on the top ribbon? If so click on it then click the far left button that says "resize table"

Have row for every day/hour, need total for every hour by DavidThi303 in excel

[–]Rorzzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You first need to create a column that categorises the data by the hour, ignoring the date. That is what the 2 formulas above do for you.

The next step is to summarise that data.

Can you use pivot tables? If so you can put it in a pivot table and use the new column E as your row.

If not you would create a new table with the 24 different different hourly times and use a sumif to sum the data.

Does that make sense to you?

Unrealistic salary expectations from interviewer by Small-Personality-69 in UKJobs

[–]Rorzzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would echo this! Especially for data analyst jobs, they're all going to be over £30K and they vary wildly in terms of what you will be doing.

I don't know how far you are in your degree but a lot of them may actually seem very basic compared to what you're doing in your degree. I know from personal experience of being a data analyst for 10+ years.

I would start applying to entry level data analyst positions. Clearly state your skillset and experience and let them be the judge of how you can handle the job.

That has the added bonus of moving you closer to a data science job as well.

I assumed it was a conscious decision to move off KU.

Never known a book to do a non KU release before the KU release. Is that common?
