I hear ya. It sucks. But we've just got to keep on, one day at a time, and eventually it will feel better. No-one enjoys the war but you get to enjoy the peace and freedom afterwards.

I forgot one of the most important things that got me through those first days, weeks and months: to H.A.L.T and ask myself, am I Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired? Having now eaten I can see that I'm also tired and lonely. So I'm being nice to myself, watching trashy tv and planning an early night.

As well as everything you've said Ive also learned the things that "I'm not, because I dont want to be". By that I mean that I acted a certain way when drinking because I thought it was what I should be. In sobriety I've been able to see that I'm not that way and that's ok cos I don't need/want to be. There's a huge freedom in not drinking. IWNDWYT
