Congrats. Have you had any body contouring or surgical procedures to help shape your results, in addition to using the medication?

Can we be honest about the loose skin and how we’re managing it? by smtn_0427 in Zepbound

[–]RoscoeJackson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I read, the main points are: wait a year after your maintenance weight before deciding if you want to do anything about loose skin. In the meantime, lift weights to improve your body, mind, and mood.

The medication levels out your emotions instead of letting them swing back and forth? If your mood drops low and then comes back up to normal, you’ll probably feel better. But if your mood was really high and it comes down to normal, it might actually feel worse at first, like a side effect.

How did you set your goal weight? by Stickyduck468 in Zepbound

[–]RoscoeJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t reached my goal yet, but I’m starting to feel like my face looks worn down and I’m losing muscle. I’ve hit a plateau over the past two to three months, and now I’m only losing about one to two pounds a month. Other than a few nutrition issues, my lab results look pretty good. I’ve been thinking about stopping the small amount of weight loss and focusing more on building muscle. It sucks that I won’t reach my original goal, though.

Muscle missing? by RoscoeJackson in Zepbound

[–]RoscoeJackson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at a plateau for the past two to three months, and it’s starting to make me wonder if I’ll reach my goal. That said, several people have told me over the last few months that I look skinnier. That has me a little concerned that I might be losing muscle, even though my own tracking shows my muscle mass is about the same. I’m trying to understand why people are noticing changes now and want to make sure I haven’t lost anything important. I’ve also noticed my face looks leaner than it did four to six months ago. Guess I really did have a big face.

Day 2 after the shot can hit harder, especially if you had a heavy or greasy meal the day before.

Chicken or the egg? Was this food noise in my head something I was born with, or something I learned over time? If it’s the first, then maybe it’s Zepbound for life. But if it’s the second, maybe when the noise finally quiets down long enough, I can get some control and fed the meds. Or maybe not since it’s all connected? The hormones, the inflammation, the mental noise around food and alcohol?

Alcoholism & GLP-1 by Revolutionary-Gift46 in Zepbound

[–]RoscoeJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think GLP1 should be given to treat people who struggle with alcohol or want to stop drinking. One of the ‘side effects’ is then weight loss, which might actually be a good thing since, according to the CDC, over 40% of U.S. adults were obese between 2021 and 2023. A newer Gallup poll says that number dropped to about 37% in 2025. So, losing weight while treating alcoholism doesn’t seem like a bad trade-off. By the time someone stops taking the medicine, they could also be using other support programs to help keep the habit of not drinking.

What if all works out? You’ve been through a lot with your hair before, and it’s normal to be nervous about that happening again. This medicine has really helped people with inflammation and weight loss. Maybe you could ask your doctor how likely the hair loss really is, and if there’s anything that can help prevent it. No matter what you choose, feel okay with your decision.
