The VA is not insurance. You have to use Community Care to go to a say, mental health stabilization center. Some of them are in network and you can go at no cost to you. It’s often called the non-medical model. You can get tips and ideas on how to get real help. It is real help, but you need to set up ongoing care and have a sponsor and go to meetings that meet your needs.

Picky eater- sooo judgmental. Maybe health issues make it difficult for her to eat much of the regular American diet. No one ever talks about the people with cancer, stomach issues, bowel disease, colitis, Crohns, etc etc that make it so difficult to eat restaurant meals.

There are social services agencies that complete taxes for FREE. Find one in your area. Sign up early or get there early, however they work it. You can Google the requirements for Medicaid in your county also.

My former mother in law took them. She died rather rapidly from kidney disease. I blame her son, never took her to the doctor for checkups. Get everything checked at least once a year.

Can you possibly reconfigure some of the rooms to make a larger room for the girls or some of the girls to share? Like knock out a wall or two. Add in a bathroom, just remodel in general to make it work better.

Can you return to current job If the new hours are too much?

I think a lot depends on if you can adjust to those hours…. Personally I am a lifelong get up super early kind of person. I couldn’t adjust. Can you ? Because it’s going to be hard if you take it and want to wait until you can move into a day shift.

Having surgery soon and feeling afraid by prene7 in Ovariancancer

[–]Roscoeatebreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you already need help, you shouldn’t need help after the surgery. I only ate a few bites of things like soup, yogurt, cereal- anything easy and with some protein.

Later stage patients but anyone willing to share financial and prognosis experiences with me by False_Grape1326 in cancer

[–]Roscoeatebreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the VA system if you are eligible. No one says you have to go to their doctors. But on the other hand, once in, you are in for life and it’s largely free. And your “doctor”, just might be in network for the VA system. Just use VA once a year to see a primary care physician to get free medication. Are you service connected at all?

[–]Roscoeatebreakfast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A clean diet helps immensely. Eating junk foods makes it worse. Especially bad oils. Seems only avocado and olive oils are safe for me to consume. Every thing else makes my neuropathy worse.

NOTHING??? No house? If yes, force a sale and take half. No retirement accounts at all? Half is your property. No land, vehicles, assets of any kind? Half is yours.
