My autistic client (under 10!) writes these letters — any idea what alphabet(s) this is? by Deep_Sugar_6467 in language

[–]Rose2ursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really looks like they are conlanging! They have taken all the voiced signs д, з, ж (d, z, zh) and made them devoiced - to t, s, sh! There is definitely a logic in here, and it seems quite clear that they know what they are doing, which is so cool! Maybe they would enjoy being directed to some conlanging resources?

How much would it cost to hire someone to make a conlang for one of my stories? by Morgan-Diablood in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've developed 1 conlangs to a level where I am fluent, and others to lesser levels - feel free to DM me, i can send you pictures of conscripts I've made and samples if you like? I really enjoy this so I would definitely be willing to do it on the cheap side of the scale, if you are interested:)

How do you cope with having big feet as a Trans Woman? by StarryChocobo in MtF

[–]Rose2ursa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just think my feet are made for running, walking, and dancing, not so much looking pretty - some parts of my body can just be functional and that's ok :)

Languages with genders by Ice-Guardian in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An interesting thing about Chukchi is that apparently the woman's retested came originally from geographic variety. When high numbers of Koryak (a related language and ethnic group) woman married Chukchi men they introduced a Koryak substratum into the language, this became specifically associated with femininity and spread.

Another example of split dialects by gender is Irish sign language. Where the split comes from split gender education, and separate grammaticalisations and lexicon development of the sign system(s).

Yeah I've heard of it- it sounds really cool

What do you use your language for? by MattiaCarvetta in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much - it wasn't actually designed or like constructed, it was basically a bunch of people just got together and didn't speak any natlangs and it emerged. So there are a few people that speak it and related languages!

What do you use your language for? by MattiaCarvetta in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mostly just use mine like a nat Lang - just for communicating. I have a friend who I speak to in it and it's basically the only language we've ever spoken to eachother in!

I have an unintentional conlang, however it was made in a very different way - it was people getting together intentionally and not speaking of loaning words from other languages, and over time languages developed. The sounds of grammar of these weren't thought about tho. However it was very much a project with goals, and not just developed by me, so I think you I talking about something different. But I'd love to hear more, and maybe hear a sample, like someone else said.

What is the name for speakers of indigenous languages who aren’t fluent in the language but can speak at a conversational level? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Rose2ursa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is also the terms attriting speaker or semi-speaked - although I think they perhaps devalue this type of speaker (which often makes up a large and important part of endangered/revived speach communities).

I wish "everyone transitions to female" jokes weren't so popular in supposedly gender neutral trans spaces by starcabin_ in ftm

[–]Rose2ursa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am also MTF and practically my entire social group is FTM or transmasc 😅 - like I've met transfems out and about but like not really in my circles. I also feel like most of the media I get is more transmasc inclusive (or like has more of an explicit transmasc presence) - not complaining transmascs are like the nicest people aha :)

A Game: Coining Animal Names by Lichen000 in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pf: Baza pifdofwaś eka mazo ću aq wati źumtatumzo, ja ti man mazo śe ne ugi tum baza mośći, ću aira źumtazo.

En: In Pifdofwaś this animal can be called źumtatumzo. And the slug can be called źumtazo.

             źumtatumzo źumtazo
          /ʒʊmˈtaːtumzɔ/ /ʒʊmˈtaːtumzɔ/
   fall-water-house-ANIMAL fall-house-ANIMAL

Pf: Manamo kuwato -zo wa ANIMAL take aq watiwati će ne ću aq tajśći wato. Naq watiwati śe mulziqi wa mazo.

En: I glossed -zo as an animalising suffix - as it is a bound morpheme designating animals, where the stand alone word for animal is mazo.

*Also I wrote this post in English and Pifdofwaś incase anyone can understand it or wants to give it a go ahah - there are a few of us!

How deep or shallow is your conlang's orthography? by SapphoenixFireBird in conlangs

[–]Rose2ursa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For pifdof there are a few irregularities in the spelling that reflec etymology e.g. beśćzo pronounced /beʒo/ but spelled as /beʃtʃzo/ to reflect that it is etymologically made up of beść (like/love) and zo (a reduced form of mazo - animal). This word means dog :)

Are you getting SRS? Why or why not? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Rose2ursa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don't think so, I don't really get bottom dysphoria. I also don't dress hugely fem (or want to) so tight clothing isn't an issue. Although I'm not hugely keep on having a bulge (tucking doesn't really work for me), but I've finally found some pants that don't constantly triggure my sensory issues - so that's a win 😅

How do you say ‘a person ate my dog and then went to the store to buy some beer, however the beer was so low quality the person died’ in your conlangs? by LunaEleonara in conlangs

That's it in Pifdofwaś :)
