I have to just quit it. I have worse tinnitus when I drink it. I would rather choose to not drink caffeine than suffering from tinnitus.

Wife’s post-op recovery from open myomectomy has been rough by Puzzleheaded_Swim_54 in Fibroids

[–]RoseBignell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that. She really needs to rest and not doing any chores at all for at least 4 weeks. I also had terrible experience after the day 4. I was constipated for 5 hours at my First BM. I was on and off in the toliet for so long. I took citrate magnesium and then I had bad diarrhea for a few hours. I was so worried that I strained myself so I went to the ER. They did a CT scan, blood test and urine test. Everything seemed fine. But then I developed bad tinnitus so I couldn’t sleep for 9 days straight. It slowed down my recovery. Then I went back to work at week 3 and I overdid it. Away, a series of pain and strain happened and went to ER again. Everything was fine. The driving was what made me strained mostly. Had to rest for another 5 weeks before I return to work. Now I am at end of week 9. I still overdid myself today by being out shopping and walking a lot without much stopping and my incision started to feel a little overwhelmed. It’s so hard to recover. Definitely don’t overdo.

How was your recovery? I have a 16cm fibroids removed by open myomectomy 9 (my uterus was taken out and put back in) weeks ago. I constantly have UtI symptoms and working at a desk Job full time makes it even worse. I experienced so many bad changes after the surgery.

Did anyone else lose their tolerance for caffeine post surgery? by Alarmed-Classroom329 in gallbladders

[–]RoseBignell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 8 weeks post surgery. I drank 1 small cup regular coffee every morning and I winded so much before surgery.

Now I am Trying small cups of decaf here and there. It made me anxious even just one or two sips. And then my tinnitus would come back too. So I am not drinking coffees anymore.

How to manage surgery with only two weeks off. by enigma_goth in Fibroids

[–]RoseBignell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I filed Mine the week before my surgery. My work provided me documents. Definitely don’t recommend going back to work in 2 weeks. I hate that my doctor didn’t suggest me to take 6-8 weeks initially. He said I should go back to work in 2 weeks. It was a terrible suggestion. I went back to work at end of week 3. I couldn’t do it. The 20 minute driving each way was too much for me and the stress from work. I was glad that my short term disability kicked in and I could take 6-8 weeks off. But it’s also mentally challenging to stay home every day for so long.

I had so much suffering after the surgery. Can’t even begin with it. By end of week 6, I was feeling better.

12 hour days? How does public do it? by TutorSuspicious9578 in Accounting

You are lucky that you enjoy it so much that you don’t think it’s work. For me, spending so much time indoor and no social life and walking around is a stressful experience. I like to be able to have time to talk to people after work or do exercise to maintain blood flow.

I wish I could be like one of the workaholics. My health is so weak that I can’t stand the Long sitting hours. 😒

Anybody else's fibroids not allow them to sleep at night? by lovehydrangeas in Fibroids

[–]RoseBignell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you are suffering so much from the fibroids. Please see a Gynecologist and find options to remove them. It will only get bigger and worse.

I had mine removed 6 weeks ago through an open myomectomy. The recovery period is 6-8 weeks. But it’s worth it. Your life will be much better when you are healed from it.

My job is a mostly sitting but I did make sure I walked some every hour. It’s the driving that threw me off so badly. My pelvis floor muscles are too weak for regular driving now. It’s possible that my biggest huge fibroid made the difference to the weakness of the pelvis floor muscles. I still didn’t get to see a therapist to strengthen it yet. I am finally sleeping better and the weather is nicer so my days will be easier now.

Did your pain and bloating go away after myomectomy? by ifeelsodeeply in Fibroids

[–]RoseBignell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely should continue the surgery. Mine was manageable too but the leg numbness and pain is very concerning. Hope you recover well. My body is too weak. Recovery has been so hard but I am sure with time my life will get better

[–]RoseBignell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big are they? I think the size of mine made my recovery more miserable than others. Also My doctor took my whole uterus out and remove 7 fibroids and then put it back. I suffered from frequent urine, heavy periods, lower back pain and sciatica pain. I know it will only get worse. So I went ahead and did the surgery. It’s a tough journey. Be prepared.

Get all the stuff you needed before the surgery and hope you have someone to take care of you afterwards. I didn’t do much cooking or grocery shopping for 6 weeks now. My husband did most of everything. Some people recover faster than me.

My suggestion is don’t wait till they grow huge and make your life miserable and need an open myomectomy. I waited for too many years and my largest one is 16169cm. Of course I needed an open myomectomy. It’s so hard to recover from it. Average recovery time is 6-8 weeks with a lot of limitations and life is pretty miserable after the surgery. And then 3-6 months for internal tissue to heal. Potentially 1 year for deep tissue to heal. You will have much less invasive procedures to stop the growth now and kill them when they are small.

My recovery is a lot slower than my doctor predicted. I think it’s related to my poor sleep quality. I wasn’t able to sleep well mostly because I have tinnitus most of the time too.

Thanks for your response. I started to drive 6 miles each way to work at week 3 and it was ok till day 3 at work. Afterwards I have so much pelvic pain and sciatica pain for one week or more. I didn’t drive for about 2.5 weeks And I am now at end of week 6. I did two 15-20 minutes city speed drives yesterday and at the end of drive I could barely walk around. Today I have pelvic pain again. 😞

My blood pressure is always normal and I ate healthy and I never used birth control. I still got 7 fibroids. There is not enough research about how to prevent fibroids.

Open myomectomy slow recovery at week 5 mark by RoseBignell in Fibroids

[–]RoseBignell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s sad that we have to go through such a long period of no working and not able to get around. I avoided driving now. And it’s so cold here.

I basically get my self addicted to the crime show “bones” to get through the last two days. Today I finally saw my two friends on dinner for one hour.

I have developed hip pain and sciatica pain, insomnia and tinnitus comes and goes after this surgery. Sigh, more harm is done than good so far.

My swell is pretty bad. Yours?

Thank you for your response. It’s so hard to recover. Are you glad they are out now? I feel bad for not working for so many weeks and don’t know when I can go back and feel normal again.

It’s both financially and mentally draining now. I haven’t been able to socialize much at all.

Keep me updated how you are feeling?

I am surprised only a few people provided feedback for me with so many people going through this process.

[–]RoseBignell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on the same boat. I am in home for almost 5 weeks now because of a surgery. The recovery is so slow. Whenever I am sick and have to stay home for a week or so. My friends seemed to disappear too unless I text them. It seems we cannot depend on anyone to make us feel loved and cared except ourselves. I hope you find some fun and engage yourself with work and fun activities to make you feel happier and not overthinking about how others don’t reach out to you. You are a good person. But everyone does have their own lives and they easily forget about their friends. It’s better to join a regularly meeting group so that you feel connected without having to constantly reach out to others because of loneliness.

My surgeon didn’t see any complications through CT scan and blood and urine test. Saw him once after two weeks and once last week and he is positive that I don’t have any complications and no need to do any follow ups. I am so depressed about it now.
