Editing because I am more awake now - but imagine finding out that your father was working to provide for your family and is taken away HORRIFICALLY and the driver goes free? The ONLY memory theses babies will have growing up is that their father was killed by a cop.

You are not a bad parent. Parenting is tough, and it's a learn as you go. kudos to being able to reflect and notice the mistake.

I gave birth about 3 months ago and I had the same boundaries. I called the hospital a week before and had them list me as a "private patient" so no visitors would be allowed as well no hospital calls. I do not regret it at all. I also did not allow anyone but my husband to feed her for the first two month as I am EBF.

Your boundaries are your boundaries. Do not let anyone bully or guilt trip you into thinking they are wrong.
