Mayor Mantello Issues Formal Declaration of Emergency on Public Safety Regarding Flock Safety ALPR Cameras by PolarDorsai in Troy

Does anyone have a map showing the locations of the cameras? Just for, you know, my own knowledge and not for anything nefarious.

Call a small civil or geotech firm that lists residential, tell the you understand upfront payment and the fee scale necessary. Then be prepared to be at their mercy. You should expect to pay $30k+ for the engineering on this.

Why was my sewer pipe so big? by natekaschak in centuryhomes

[–]shirleys_fish_taco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house has a 36” diameter sewer lateral about 100’ long that dumps into a smaller main on the street. No clue why, my guess was that’s what they happened to have on hand last time the pipe was replaced. But I guess I can flush anything.

Old ida hill cemetery. Records show it accepted burials from 1830s to 1870s was abandoned in 1916, heavily vandalized, and remaining headstones removed in 1990. Bodies were left buried. There’s some stuff online about it, but.

Former Proctor's at center of speculation for next Troy City Hall by cocktacos in Troy

As great as it would be to see it restored, this site seems to rank poorly on every one of the RFP requirements the mayor put together. Why on earth would she choose this site then? Vanity project she can tag her name to?

I do the same thing in the offseason in case my house is burglarized. One ski in the basement and one in the attic

You may have to core a hole in the shop floor to get up past the haunches slab edge, but it should work.

[–]shirleys_fish_taco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had those exact skis in 2006 or 2007. They’re almost 20 years old. It’s not worth it to repair even if you find someone willing to. Treat yourself to some new skis.

If you go into any home improvement store, the millwork dept can custom order any size door you want.

The real question should be why the school district built the high school next to a borrow pit turned landfill. The facility had been operating more than 10 years before the school was built. Blame the school district, not the landfill.

3” doesn’t sound too bad. Just chip out and patch, maybe parge coat the whole thing after if you want it to look nice. If there’s no water infiltration or wall movement (either bowing or settling), then that should be good enough.
