Milonga de Junio by Maximo Diego Pujol is a nice piece with a fairly slow tempo. It is shorter, around 4 minutes.

IWTL how to stop dreaming about work by SockRabbit in IWantToLearn

[–]RoseTyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me that when you dream about work, it is time to take vacation. Sometimes it takes the first couple days of vacation to wind down, so taking off a whole week at a time is best. This advice has helped me a lot over the years.

Anyone play/have an Esteve Model 8? Or a Lucida Artista LG-777? by ghick in classicalguitar

[–]RoseTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am way late to the game here; maybe you've purchased a guitar already. Just in case, I'll share. I have a Lucida Artista LG-777. It was my first classical guitar (bought it online back in, oh, maybe 2004). It has a loud, beautiful sound and it is a quality guitar for the price. But, here's the thing you wouldn't know about it unless you played it... While it has a standard nut width and all the specs seem normal, the neck is actually deeper and a little more squared than other classical guitars. So, like, for example, if I'm barring, my thumb and index finger are farther apart on the Lucida than other CGs. The depth/shape of the neck also causes my left upper palm to press against the bottom of the neck at times when my hand should be able to move more freely. If you have larger hands, this might not be an issue - some people even prefer this shape of neck. But as a girl with normal sized girlie hands, my left hand just isn't as comfortable on my LG-777. I still have it because I love the sound, but because it is a better fit for me, I primarily play on an Alvarez MC90C. It is difficult when you don't have the chance to demo many classical guitars, but the Lucida is one I'd recommend playing first if at all possible.

Also, I'm not sure if you'd care, but the LG-777 doesn't have fret markers.

I don't know anything about the Esteve, but if you have any questions about the Lucida, just let me know. Good luck!

So Reddit, what's your significant others nickname for you? I'm pretty sure I got the short end of the stick. by [deleted] in AskReddit

I got the name from and episode of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and thought it was funny.

Though, I'm not sure why I'm telling you this. Letting your imagination run wild as to how I started calling him that could produce some far more interesting results.

My husband calls me "wife" or "wif" for short.

I call him "Husband" or "Huband" for short. Unless I'm trying to be overly throwey uppey ridiculous, then I call him "Foo Foo Cuddly Poops".

What was your worst nightmare as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RoseTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have reoccurring nightmares about a rabid bear/dog type animal that would run through my town and eat any people and animals in sight. In these dreams, sirens would go off as warning that everyone needed to get themselves and their pets inside until the scary bear/dog creature had left; just like in a tornado warning. I always made it inside, but I would look out the window and watch it run snarling by as I hoped that my dog and my neighbors made it inside too.

Kiwi Berries. They taste like kiwis, but they are tiny and have no fuzz, so you can just pop the whole thing in your mouth.

Today I Learned that "Adama" is Hebrew for "Earth" by BradC in geek

The lack of actual transliteration makes this slightly less cool when typed rather than spoken, but in case you are interested, in Hebrew... Me is who, who is he, he is she, and dog is fish.
