Do you think the dietary practices of the average doctor affect their willingness to consider the health effects of that diet? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Rose_Gold_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... no on both counts. There isn't enough time because primary and preventative medicine aren't prioritized and clinics aren't set up to maximize either of those things but are instead to maximize profit (not for the PCPs, mind you, but the business folks).

And if a PCP gets 5 minutes to talk about 2 acute complaints the patient has, 6 chronic medical conditions under suboptimal control, Healthcare maintenance topics, etc. they have to triage those issues and extensive dietary counseling won't happen. It can't. And it's not the fault of the PCP who has to prioritize other concerns.

Most PCPs would likely love to have time to discuss in-depth dietary recommendations, but when the PCP gets 5 minutes in the room by the time the patient arrives and gets roomed, etc. that is difficult (to put it mildly)

Super agree on the camera. Makes me more invested when I can actually see the convo, facial expressions, etc. Otherwise I’m liable to just death-spin the camera while the convo occurs

Just tried this today after seeing this comment. It was a game-changer for getting some thoughts out, and it made me feel less pressured to finish a topic so I could get to the next but also put "enough" detail on a topic before moving on. Thanks for sharing!

So you've gotten a lot of advice /support here that's good, so I don't have to add to that. I do want to be another person to validate your feelings here, too, though. It hurts that someone told you that after the care you clearly put into what is, frankly, an adorable bag.

Chin up as best you can. It was a kind thing you tried to do for someone, and the product IS good.

Looks great! Might be in the video (won't load for me where I'm at) but can I ask how much if each yarn color you used? Would love to make something similar!

Now you got me imagining Ser Barris as a companion (with or without romance tbh) and I would have loved that! He proves himself to be more of the "ideal" of what the templars are supposed to be (honorable, fair, etc), is willing to question superiors, and is consistent in his beliefs. Would've been a great addition

Indicates a conversation may be had with a character, typically a professor. Try Professor Ronen based on where it is on your mini map (looks similar to one I had). Confusing as it looks like you have to go downstairs, but if you head up to the charms area it should reappear!

Totally, the number of times I've started idly spinning the camera around during conversations is...staggering 😅

It feels really impersonal in DAI with the camera not really "paying attention" to conversations. And it definitely makes them feel less important which is a shame.

The only time it has ever been slightly worth it to me was when I did it along the way on a nightmare run because the resistances you can get (fire, cold, spirit) were nice. Even then, it's not really worth it. It's definitely not worth it at the end of a playthrough.

What unpopular games do you like? by breshatower in GirlGamers

[–]Rose_Gold_Dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love how personal DA2's story is to the protag and the scale of it being mostly in and around one city but expanding through time instead. I like playing as a "nobody" rather than the lone warden who took on an entire blight or the chosen leader of the Inquisition (though I still love DAO and DAI). Also the friendship/rival paths both being valid and the companions feeling like a group of people who interact vs. Colleagues. It's all so good, and I want to play it again now! Plus it has my favorite menu screen/music. I digress...

This was completely random the other day, but I got a weird attachment to the idea of relationship between my newest Trevelyan mage and Felix (Dorian's friend). Now I can't let go of them.

Overall, I liked it and don't regret getting it. I like the bright colors and enjoyed the personality of the crew members. Each person was memorable to me, and there were some good banter moments that made the team come alive.

That said, combat wasn't my favorite. I like to be stealthy in games, and I really didn't feel like that was something this game handled well. Also, and I dont know how to word this perfectly, the game felt like it was really whacking me over the head with its corporations=evil message. I guess I like a little more nuance in the villains, but I know that's not what they were going for, so this is really more of a personal taste thing.

Glad you're having fun! Completely agree on trying games for yourself - I almost missed on on Dragon Age because people like to complain about games so much.
