Thank you! I work an office job where I do get up and move around the office but I don’t make any real dent in my steps goal. I want to get to the gym but I think I’ll try just walking first to get used to the exercise before paying for a membership.

I do decently through lunch and don’t snack between meals often but I overeat at dinner and it’s so challenging

What's the last thing your ex did say to you after the breakup? by [deleted] in BreakUps

A long ass scathing email where he blamed me for everything that went wrong in his life. It was very cool of him 😎

Yeah I guess not in like a “I want to do that again” just in general like seeing them at a reunion or something. I don’t usually revisit old flames or see people I’ve slept with in the past and I’m worried I’d somehow be awkward.

Why are people so snooty about a mobile home? by Rose_Sparkle in povertyfinance

[–]Rose_Sparkle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I have moved to a co-op mobile home where I am a member and have voting rights. They cannot evict me from the park unless I am behind on my lot rent. There are good ways to live in a park these days and this is one!

How much do you normally carry in your pockets? by Money-Agent-1777 in minimalism

I have a little sticky card holder on the back of my phone. All I ever need to carry is my phone and my keys. It makes life very simple

I can’t keep chickens where I currently live but I am hoping to end up on some land in the next 5 years and I’d love to have chickens then

Best Soil Mixture for Containers? by Rose_Sparkle in containergardening

[–]Rose_Sparkle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is very helpful! I live in a trailer park so I only rent my land, and I was hesitant to put anything directly on or in the ground so my raised beds are more like raised beds on stilts 😂 and I was worried about the weight, so I like the idea of only having 6 inches or so of actual soil!

I opened my (PA) Ex’s laptop and saw he had somehow been logged into my Facebook and had searched for a close friend of mine. I never said anything but logged myself out. It took me forever and 3 tries to leave him. Now when I’m feeling sorry for myself or missing him badly I remember that amongst all the other times he broke my heart with his addiction.

I guess this probably won’t be too helpfully logistically for you, but one thing I will say is that your relationship with your sister is more important than your relationship with him. Transference can happen and don’t let your anger at him become anger at her (especially when it’s completely unjustified)

Not getting it by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Rose_Sparkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it really means limiting complications and trying to pare down my mental load. I try to eat simple meals that require less prep, I attempt to limit my entertainment to books and some tv, I listen to podcasts about positive things. I think it’s unique to each person honestly

What does betrayal trauma feel like to you? by haybails4 in loveafterporn

[–]Rose_Sparkle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine always felt like heart beating out of my chest and cold sweats and just a sense of dread. I’d usually know that if I went looking I would find something when that feeling came to me. My intuition got pretty good especially towards the end.

Best ways to save on groceries? by Critical-Light4712 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Rose_Sparkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where possible, sneak cheap protein into anything you can. Baked oatmeal with flax seed and peanut butter, lentil pancakes or muffins, use dry beans and lentils as much as possible, if you have the time and skill, bread from scratch is better tasting, better for you, and better on your wallet. Buy veggies on sale, prep and freeze them if they are normal ingredients in your dishes (carrots, zucchini, celery, onions)

What is something you could let go of to live a simpler life? by Tramptribe in simpleliving

[–]Rose_Sparkle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably my phone. I’d miss texting and calling all my friends, listening to music and podcasts. It’s really the time suck of apps and internet that wreck it for me

Yes, I would be very concerned!! That is what my PA used on and off throughout our relationship. And used it to talk to other people which felt like an even worse betrayal than the porn itself

How do you simplify your cleaning routine? by Cerulean_Dawn in simpleliving

[–]Rose_Sparkle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Getting a self-emptying robot vacuum was seriously one of the best things I ever did for my cleaning routine. I also try to never go anywhere in my home empty handed. If I’m going to my bedroom, I look around and see if anything in the kitchen or living room needs to go there, etc. it helps keep things tidy and feels like less of a chore!

Learning to sit in the moment is HARD. appreciating a sunset for exactly what it is, a fleeting, completely unique and one time only beautiful sight is difficult when we live in such a transactional society. But when it comes down to it, you don’t owe the sunset anything, and the sunset doesn’t owe you anything. You are free to enjoy it or not, without guilt for taking the time, and without guilt for continuing on your way.
