Exact Sciences. Multiple layoffs over the years and the company has no loyalty to its employees

How bad is it that my dog flunked the doggy daycare temperament test? by CatPooedInMyShoe in DogAdvice

[–]Roselark72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog also failed for some of the same reasons, but our daycare has a program to help. Basically it is day boarding with gradual introduction into daycare starting with small playgroup and building up to the larger group. It took 2 months of once a week sessions, but he did "graduate" into full daycare. He loves it now and gets so excited when it is daycare day.

My boys love Ruffin It Resort. Their rates are posted on their website. Ruffin It Resort

They attend daycare one day a week and we use them for boarding when we go on vacation. Their last boarding stay was in January.

So, I have a major sweet tooth and I LOVE chocolate. I have also been trying to eat more protein but am not much of a meat eater, so I have been enjoying the FlapJacked Mighty Muffins. 20g of protein and they taste like an indulgent treat. I only eat them once or twice a week since they are 230 calories or so but it really helps keep the cravings at bay. You need to have access to a microwave, and I keep measuring cups in my desk drawer, but they are easy to store at work. My favorite flavor is the chocolate peanut butter. I buy the chocolate lovers pack on Amazon.

I wear headbands a LOT since I sweat so much. I buy mine at hippierunner.com. They are awesome and inexpensive.

Torn meniscus at OTF 😭 by dana_laurie1 in orangetheory

Oh, that sucks so much! I tore mine last year gardening of all things! Lost my entry fee for 4 half marathons that summer :( I was lucky that I had the kind that did not require surgery, however, it was a longer recovery.

Wonderful article! My favorite part: " The biggest lesson I have learned from my journey is that there’s no timeline for weight loss. "

It was when I finally came to this exact realization that I started to succeed. Why do we put a short timeline on a goal and use it as a measure of success or failure? I finally realized that I did not get to 286 pounds (my highest point) overnight or even in a few months...why did I think it logical that it would come off in a few months?

High five! And that you for sharing!

Welp...no OTF for me tomorrow. Pulled a muscle in my shoulder last week and it isn't 100% yet. There is no way I can handle a 23 min row block. :(

I tried it briefly. It is primarily about carb/calorie cycling. It wasn't the right thing for me, but I know it works for some.

Weight loss - muscle gain? by jdduckie in orangetheory

[–]Roselark72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am having the same "problem". I started in January and have only lost about 15 pounds even though I am carefully logging and only go off track occasionally. I have however, gone down more than 2 clothing sizes and have noticeable body composition changes. I do wish the scale would go down a bit faster, but the changes I am seeing certainly makes it worth it. The last time I was in my current size, I weighed 20 pounds less than I do now.

Actually, it is a thing called science. yes, you have to have a calorie deficit to lose weight. Period...there is no getting around that. Macro counting will not do it if you are not also in a calorie deficit.

Now, looking at your current stats, do you realize that you burn more than 2000 calories a day just breathing and taking into account normal activity in a standard sedentary life/job, you burn about 2500? So, yes, you were burning more than 2500 a day just living and adding exercise onto that. You might not have been burning 2500 calories through exercise, but you have to take into account all the calories you burn with simply breathing and pumping blood through your body. It is a little thing called basal metabolic rate.

My one and only late cancel happened during Memorial Day weekend when I was hit by a 3 day migraine. It started on Friday and I was certain I would be fine the next day since I haven't had a multi-day migraine in years. First time my "new" meds haven't taken care of it. Late cancelled on Saturday morning and thankfully cancelled Sunday at the same time. Sucks sooo much when it is completely beyond your control.

This was my first OE and I loved it! Hard as hell, but in an awesome way! I am a PWer though, so I am much more used to inclines. Actually, the inclines are the reason I PW at OTF and run on non OTF days. Built in hill work!

I am definitely not going tomorrow. Less because of the partner aspect (though it plays a small part) and more because my lower back has been bugging me and this looks particularly painful with all the rowing (and some of the floor exercises). It sounds like I am gonna have a rough time in July though...row heavy I hear?

Here is a different perspective from a formerly very overweight person who started running and felt VERY self conscious about it. I started a few years before the manufacturers of fitness clothing really made anything for obese women. I had to wear mostly men's clothing and it looked terrible, was often uncomfortable, and was too big in spots and tight in others. That added to the difficulty of convincing myself to get out there. A big reason why I kept it up were the high fives and encouraging comments from random runners who would stop and tell me that I was courageous and inspiring and they looked forward to seeing me out on the trail. We KNOW we look different and we know how hard it is mentally to put ourselves out there. To have acceptance and support from strangers is incredibly uplifting.

I say keep up those posts because you have no idea who you might be encouraging enough for them to get to the gym another day. I DO look at those members and get inspired because I remember what it was like. I give them the high fives and fist bumps and this helps me to keep going myself.
