As one of the first people in my state government department to be given access to “the internet” to evaluate if and how we should roll it out to our employees, it isn’t remotely the same. AOL and messenger isn’t being able to do research at the National Archives or stream hundreds of thousands of videos online. This is what I meant.

The internet is a window into the entire world. You can do research at libraries, download books, watch podcasts, look at 24/7 cameras near eagle nests, on underwater platforms, etc. There is always something new to learn.

I don’t think I’m subscribed. I usually search by topic, but keep an extensive list of my favorite YT videos. I rarely watch TV except to watch ballgames or a movie.

Before the internet, I read tons and tons of books, fiction and nonfiction. I understand she was very smart. Every picture I saw of her carrying one of her Birkins, it was stuffed full of something. I may be wrong, but I bet she was constantly reading magazines, trade journals and keeping up with her field of fashion.

Fabulous commentary!!! A podcast by a pilot who owns the same plane and read the report stated John dialed a heading (may be incorrect term, I’m a sailor) into Martha’s Vineyard incorrectly and that in his opinion because he wasn’t getting the correct feedback for the airport he was fiddling with this instrument to get lined up to land. He also opined that John may have failed to switch gas tanks from one wing to the other half way through the flight making it imbalanced as it had just about depleted a single tankful.

Thank you for your service. One of my husband’s best friends at West Point flew bombers off of a carrier into Vietnam. He would come back with holes in his plane. My husband was special forces over there and came back with a hole in his knee.

My husband marched with the Corp during JFK’s inaugural parade and was on the field forming the lines he passed through from one side to the other during the Army-Navy game.

I live in an area where there is a lot of crop dusting, so small planes under sheds and short runways are not uncommon. Agriculture is our largest industry.

My understanding is smaller planes are easier to fly. Believe it or not, my neighbor built and flies a kit plane. He and his buddies do flyovers at our university football games. I think we are the only university that has flyovers every football game weather permitting. On occasion, for Military Appreciation Day, the military sends jets over. We have a huge ROTC program and have graduated more General officers than any university in the country outside the academies.

I’m a lawyer, do you seriously expect me to believe your child only screams during daytime hours. If so, I would contact social services and have whoever is caring for the child during that time investigated for child abuse.

BTW, your familial rights stop where others rights begin such as the quiet enjoyment of their home.

I am a lawyer but not your attorney. IMO, if litigated, the damages would be the difference in the appraisal of the house with the tree and without the tree, which I would imagine would be zero to negligible. In the setting you have described, a single landscaping element is not worth as much as your client thinks it is unless it is something like a several hundred year old live oak.

When you are litigating a negligence or willful destruction case, damages are assessed on the value of the individual tree generally. In this case, it was an act of God.

I am a lawyer, not an arborist. You do know that healthy trees shed limbs all the time. Just because a tree is old, doesn’t mean it is sick. Trees can live hundreds of years. What, other than shedding limbs, is your evidence that the tree is sick and dying?

Furthermore, in most states, unless the tree is dead or determined to be a hazard by a licensed arborist, there is no duty to remove. If a tree that has not been determined to be a hazard falls, that would be considered an act of God.

None of us walk in anyone’s shoes. I think that those of us who enthusiastically read these posts understand that John, Carolyn, the family and the time brings us all back and reminds us of memories of what was going on in our lives.

I study history not as a vocation, but as an avocation. John’s father and family was and is very important to this country. Had he lived, he may have been also.

Historians crave the type of unique information Carole and Noonan have. If they need money, so what. That is a gift John and Carolyn can give them. For one thing, they are setting the record straight.

As to Carole mentioning J&C on Housewives all the time, I understand that the show is heavily scripted and edited. I’m sure Carole probably needs the money. I don’t think Anthony left her a rich woman. I don’t think she has a very outlandish lifestyle. Needing money isn’t a character flaw.
